Hey, we’re a small student team building Ally, a preventive mental health platform focused on life after therapy.

We started this because we saw the same pattern over and over again: people recover, return to everyday life, slowly fall back into unhealthy patterns, and often don’t realize they’re struggling again until they hit another crisis.

What Ally does:

passively detects subtle behavioral changes linked to mental wellbeing (sleep, activity, phone usage patterns, etc.) and turns those early signs into personalized support before things escalate.

The idea is not to replace therapists — but to help people stay well between and after treatment.

Right now, we’re running a research study to help build the early detection model and testing intervention concepts with users.

We’d genuinely love feedback from people who’ve experienced mental health struggles themselves, therapists, researchers, or anyone interested in preventive mental healthcare.

Two questions:

What do you think is currently missing after therapy or during recovery?

What would actually make you trust or use a system like this?

Happy to share more, give early access, or just hear honest thoughts. Comment or DM :)
