Capital One Ruined Discover

Capital One just blocked my latest Discover card purchase while they texted me to confirm whether I made the purchase. No reason: just a big purchase. Discover would never have done that. Discover could magically tell if it was me or not with phenomenal accuracy.

The vendor doesn’t have an easy way to re-run a charge unless you give them a different card. So now I have to work my way through to a human.

Discover has been my default credit card since 1989. Guess my BofA Visa is taking its place

Mergers don’t work if you lose all the customers.

Hybrid yes or no

I’m considering replacing my 14 year old sedan with an SUV, mostly for safety features but I also want a heated steering wheel. I mostly use the car on short, non-highway trips and average 5K miles per year (mileage is just over 72K on a 2012).

Is that a good use case for a hybrid?

The comments on a local news article were just a goldmine!

Stephanie got things off to a rocky start and then Mark waded in with almost a whole new word. I stopped reading the comments after that.

TRIVIA: Sam Evans gave two paintings to Vicki. Who was the subject of the first one - who bore a strong resemblance to Vicki?

(Trivia, as suggested yesterday in another post)

u/jamisonian123 - is this one also too easy? Hard to gauge

Behavioral change: what to expect and what did you do?

Kitty sitting crazed diabetic cat. Advice on what to ask vet?

- Glucose running in 400’s after dose increase to 2.5 CU 2-3 weeks ago, so better but not stabilized

- Emaciated after being on oral med and hospitalization for ketoacidosis last month

- Eating prescription diabetic food, canned and dry in small meals throughout the day

- He is frantic for food and has been pooping outside the box at home, screaming at his owner 24x7

Did your cat settle down once stabilized? Should we be asking the vet about going to 3 CU? Anybody try meds for behavior (early days yet, I know)? Anything else that helped?
