Barrel Chop and Threading Recommendations

Hey all, just got my hands on a Tikka T3x Lite 22in barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor and want to get it down to 18in and threaded.

My goto of Blackjack seems to have fallen out of favor lately it seems.

Anyone got recommendations for a smith to do the work in the North Austin, Cedar Park, RR, or Pville area?

Recently acquired Century R1A1, some questions.

Hey ya'll. Just traded for a Century Arms R1A1 Sporter. Supposedly from the 90s.

From what I can find and understand, it's a CAI forged receiver and a British made lower.

​

I think the feed ramp was dremeled to fix the "unibrow" but thats my assumption from what it looks like. Not sure if the barrel threading was stock or not either.

Some questions.

​

  1. The dust cover looks to be old school dove tail. What's a good pic rail version that would work?

  2. Is there any thing else I should look at or be concerned with?

  3. Metric is electropeniciled in the mag well. This is supposedly an inch pattern, and reason for that?

  4. What you say is a good value for it, want to know how much I may have screwed up.

Got the fam together. Decided I have more money than sense and really double down on my HK collecting.

  • TG36 in 300blk (so finicky, regret trying to go with 300blk and should have stayed 5.56. Maybe I redo it).
  • VP9
  • P30 v3
  • USP 45 v1 (just got this, can't wait to shoot it)
