Seven more FAL’s getting ready for work

We have more USG foreign weapons classes scheduled for September and need to add more FAL’s to the inventory. We already have sixteen available but each student has to have their own per the training agreement. This brings me back to where it all started…. building kits with the original barrels like it’s 2002 all over again.

Sweet eBay Find

Found this neat British DPM gas mask bag on eBay. Just happens to hold 16+ FAL mags for my L1A1. I’m going to use it to plus up the mags in my chest rig during Lethal Weapons TX this year. Thinking of calling it the Belfast Speedball… ;)

Israeli FAL build but SBR

Great another izzy FAL bui- wait a darn second!

This is my SBR FAL that was an bowman israeli kit. I run the gun as pseudo OSW as per the last few images but during my journey I also modified the handguards to fit on the 12 inch barrel.

Keep Shooting FAL magazines

Just want to give a heads up in regards to the new FAL magazines offered by Keep Shooting. I am NOT saying these are bad or defective but they don’t hold up to the heavy, heavy use of our indoor, high-volume range.

These magazines, in my opinion, are not hardened to the FN specifications. I’ve got factory surplus magazines with 100,000’s of thousands through them over the last 14 years but I can only get about 16-18 months out these.

The front “beak” portion of the magazine slowly recesses in and no longer locks in place.

Again, for the average shooter I think they’re great and will last a lifetime but there is definitely a difference between factory Belgian magazines.

Lebanese contract build.

Just finished testing my newest build and it functions perfectly with a 5 on the gas setting using m80 ball ammo.

The parts kit came from Centerfire and is a matching kit in beautiful condition.

The receiver is an LSR DSA type 2 and the parts are a perfect fit. Even the locking shoulder was used.

FAL (questions)

I got an FAL but know nothing about it. I’d like to cut the barrel down to 16” and thread it for my plan-B, and I’d really love a folding stock (which evidently requires a totally different bolt and no guarantee the conversion kit will fit).
I got 12 20rd mags with it, but sure wish I had a few 30 rounders.

Of the 4K rounds, half have been put in 100rd waterproof boxes, many unlabeled—so I’m worried they could be reman or reloaded (a few have a silver bullet, but most are copper colored…many with different color tips, like tracers and stuff). 2 boxes are labeled “C93” (google thinks these are either for a different gun, or are compressed rounds with 93grains of powder).

Any ideas on the silver bullets or if it can be converted to a para, and how much it would cost? Someone said they thought it was a Century or DSA with an LMT receiver.

**He’s 84, and I let him live with me for 7 months then moved all of his stuff into his new apartment from storage and drove him around to get furniture and TVs and things (and loaded them into his apartment for him). So he gave me the FAL and all this stuff.

Recent apex kit

Mismatched. True Lebanese with the tree on the stub. But! Neat little piece attached to the stock.

Scope Mounts

Hey everyone, I just picked up this SAR-48 and love it!! The FAL has been a dream gun of mine ever since I was a kid playing Call Of Duty on an Xbox360.

Anyways, as the title suggests I was curious about scope mounts, but more curious about if anyone else would be interested in a different option? I work in manufacturing and have access to several different CNC machines, and was considering making something if there was some interest. The DSA mount is a proven and reliable system, but personally I don’t think it looks the greatest, and the A.R.M.S. mounts are very rare and not in production. I’ve got some ideas kicking around, but am definitely interested in other’s opinions as well.

NWFNGLD Tactical “The Fury”

With the USMNT on the field tonight in World Cup action, we decided to release this one a little early.

The Right Arm of the Free World reimagined as “The Fury”. NWFNGLD worked with Savage Customs to dial the paint in on this one and Charles Clark crafted the wooden hand guard.

Built for hard miles, bad weather, and people who prefer their gear with a little character. If you know, you know and knowing is half the battle.

As America rolls into its 250th year this July 4th, here’s to good friends, smoky grills, and the freedom to appreciate a classic rifle that has put in work to protect freedom around the world.

Rhodesian FAL clone

Rhodesian FAL clone Frankensteined from original R1 SA lower, DSA upper, and misc other parts. 3 lower mags are authentic Rhodesian surplus. Pictured with reproduction Rhodesian chest rig. Note nickel sized hole milled out of mag well to replicate an authentic “sanitized” lower.

Edit: One super in the weeds detail is the base of the carry handle is still attached but it has been clipped off with bolt cutters as was practiced after a Rhodesian soldier was blinded in an eye by a piece of brass that deflected off it.

Troubleshooting Assistsnce

I have a DSA FAL and was hoping to get some wisdom with troubleshooting. I am reassembling my gun and for some reason it’s getting tight when you pull back and let her slam home. I have to slam the charging handle to unlock it. If I actuate the charging handle it smooth and free. As soon as I pull all the way back and let her go it locks up again.

All help is greatly appreciated.

What’s this worth?

Hey guys, new to this sub and FALs in general so I’ll get right to it. Recently acquired this gun and just trying to get a gist of what it’s worth. From what I know (please correct me if I’m wrong) but it’s an Imbel gear logo receiver imported from Brazil by Pacific Armament Corporation (P.A.C). I’ve been told this is the most desirable of the imported receivers but I’m not sure. It’s also built on a Steyr StG 58 parts kit. Any help on figuring out what this is worth or any info on the rifle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!
