L2A2 SUIT sight

Recently re illuminated my SUIT Trilux on my inch L1A1. Tritium elements from Ant Design, they are a great supplier with awesome customer service!

This is an Enfield L1A1 rebuilt on an Enterprise Arms true inch receiver. I refurbished this rifle several years back with a full re parkerizing in dark grey park. This rifle runs flawlessly!

I have another “mutt” L1A1 built on a metric Imbel receiver, it is a flawless performer as well. That rifle is dressed in an Ironwood Designs black walnut furniture set. It’s a pretty rifle.

Marlin 2000

Just got my Marlin 2000 back together. I did an Aluma Hyde matt black on the barrel, it has been sun drying for 3 weeks.
When I got it the festive blue stock had already been painted black. I kept the black on the grip areas and did the OD green.
The rifle shoots and groups well, not sure how much the “micro groove” barrel aids in that.
Next step - backyard range and check zero on the scope and re adjust as needed.
I really like this little rifle!

My mutt L1A1s

These are my “mutt” L1A1s. Mutt because they are built on metric uppers - easier to find and cheaper mags!

The wood on the one is an Ironwood Designs American black walnut stock set, unfortunately the owner of that company has passed. It is noticeably heavier than the plastic furniture rifle which is not necessarily a bad thing as far as shooting goes. The wood rifle is an Imbel receiver, the black one is an Enterprise Arms; a pretty early one. The black one has undergone a full resto/rebuild, it was pretty beat and had a bent barrel when I got it. New barrel and a full re park job on all metal, it’s basically brand new other than having a few thousand rounds run through it.

They both shoot fantastic, very accurate out to 800 - 1000 with the iron sights. The Trilux is just kind of because, it works OK but there are better battle sights.

I love these rifles and have turned down some impressive offers, these ain’t for sale!

Inexpensive Reflex Sight for my S&W 22S

I had a stupidly large BSA 40mm red dot on this pistol and I wasn’t a fan. Don’t get me wrong, it worked great but that red dot would be more at home on a rifle, it was quite a lump on top of this pistol.
So I was at Cabelas grabbing some .22 subsonic while they had it and spotted this Firefield Reflex sight for $59. Such a deal! So I snatched it up and when I got home removed the lump and mounted this one. Stinkin thing works great! For a .22 plinker it’s perfect!
Went out to the backyard range and found the thing to be real close to zero. About 3 clicks up and a couple right and I’m not messing with it anymore, it’s dead nuts!
It’s not a small sight but again it’s not the lump like the red dot was, for $59 bucks I can’t complain!

Just fed the wood

Just fed the wood on my NPM Carbine, she’s lookin so pretty I had to share!
I use a blend of orange oil and beeswax to “feed” the wood on my old military stocks, it keeps them fresh.

Not as volatile as Ed’s Red by any means! 🤣

Where has all the .22 ammo gone?

All of a sudden I can’t find Remington .22 subsonic anywhere?

There’s a little bit of Winchester .22 sub locally but the last box of that I bought had quite a few misfires. If it won’t cycle reliably in a 10/22 then it’s pretty much junk IMHO.

Figured I should show mine after many likes and comments to the community.

DPMS with magpul front grip and ATS pistol grip. S&W flash suppressor/muzzle brake.
It shoots well, 1” MOA at 100 consistently.

I put this one together based on the A4 profile but it wouldn’t hurt to be a bit heavier.
