LMT Mars H Setup
Finally finished this build before the ole goofy ban in VA.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to fit the LMT MRGG-A BCG and barrel into a aero M5 upper and rail. Now I ask this because from what I’m seeing, the LMT MRGG-A Barrel has this concept where it’s modular enough to be changed easily. Will that affect the idea of a build? Is the BCG size compatible with a aero M5 upper? I know this is very specific but I’m in love with the idea of a 6.5 14.5in build that can touch out to 1000 yrds.
TLDR: is it possible?
Shown at SOF Week.
1 of 3 that has been made so far with only 2 still in existence. The third one got chopped up for analysis.
Colt realize how popular the IAR 5.56 was and decided to try their hand at a 7.62 version. Asked about any countries or units that are interested in it and the rep kept it vague that some Scandinavian country showed interest.
It is confirmed that it will be released to the commercial market. However it’s a long ways out.
Post from a month or so ago was just the completed lower. I was able to acquire an 18" Aero FDE upper w/ Faxon gunner barrel/ AGB and a nice 1-4 Steiner on GAFS for a total of 1050, that includes complete upper and Steiner px4i with an ADM mount.
This thing slaps. And it wasn't doing any wonky shit like my first AR10 that took 10 years to dial in!
Thanks GAFS! Saved me about 750 bucks if I would've bought brand new.
Just got 775 Rounds of this for $25 a box no tax I've seen it for different prices online. How did I do ?
Thank you everyone that helped with the advise on the sidelines on this build of mine. She’s bore sited and ready for her first freedom seed.
So I don't know what I've done wrong, but when I put any pressure on the detent pin that's for the throw on the radian talon safety selector it looks in between safe and fire. I'm not too sure what the culprit is but was wondering if anyone has had this issue and if so how was it solved, because I'm so lost and confused on my issue.
Also this is with the hammer back, with the grip off I can fire it, but as soon as there's pressure on the pin it locks.
Edit: The Trigger is a Rise Trigger RA-100, It's a 2-stage trigger, but its not a drop in unit.
Edit 2: I know it's a 90° or a 45° trigger, I have it set on the 90° option but it still locks
Edit 3: I've been buying bits and pieces for this rifle, so it's not been fired, but also the safety selector I ordered did say AR15, AR10/SR25. If that helps any.
Update, Trimming down the spring has made the selector work, but now my issue is that, in the photo shows that position is safe, and when I throw it back to fire it goes a bit past the fire selector on the lower. Is it perfect no, will it work I think so. This was going to be my nice gun, but it's gotta have a quirk or two I guess.
Anyone know if this is an armalite or DPMS BCG? For $70 thought I’d try it out if it’s the right pattern.
Nothing like getting a gun you’ve always wanted (a clone but close enough) and a week later you sustain a shoulder injury and can’t even shoot it for 8 months
From left to right:
OG Waffle magazine in original A pattern
Not Pictured: SR25 Waffle magazines. OG waffle mags refinished and modified to work in the then new SR25’s magazine catch. Magwell was based on the original AR10’s magazine pattern.
M14 magazine with mag catch hole added and plunger on follower for last round hold open. New B pattern for ban era to be able to use plentiful M14 mags grandfathered in before the ban.
M14 magazine revision with indexing piece added for alignment. (This example is missing the plunger for the last round hold open)
Armalite manufactured AR10B magazine. New mags made after the ban for existing AR10B rifles.
AR10A/SR25 Magazine. Current production style AR10 mags, widely standardized by most manufacturers of large frame ARs. This example is made by KAC
Honorary PMag mention.
I recently just completed this paint job. It’s a Duracoat Glk 19x coyote tan color. I do like the paint job but I am definitely itching to add some other FDE colors to it. Maybe a net pattern of magpul FDE and Rapco field drab. Thoughts?
Still learning my way around the platform. This is my current BCG but I’m reading its entry level. Possibly interested in upgrading it. Advice welcome.
Got my Steiner t6xi 2.5-15x in last week to find that the hardware for the locking turret was never installed unfortunately. Purchased through Expert Voice (which is fulfilled by Steiner/Burris out of Colorado).
Called and spoke with them a couple times. Option 1 to resolve is a 5-6 week lead time for warranty and shipping. Option 2 is to get an exchange by returning it for a refund and re-purchase per their sales team. No direct exchange option available. Sucks to have to send a brand new scope in for “warranty” when this supposedly passed their QC. Anyone else have experience with their lead time for warranty work? Debating if I just return it and buy something different unfortunately
Been a while since I've searched the market for what's out there. Figured it'd just be better to ask here.
My current best is a Rainier Arms Ultramatch Mod 3 that isn't made anymore, is there anything better out there?
Thinking about a new rifle for hunting deer/predators within 300 yards and a little longer range steel shooting (500yd). Ideally 16” in both options.
Biggest concern is weight since I’ll be walking a good bit through timber and swampy lowlands. I’ve previously owned a 24” Grendel AR15 that was around 10 lbs scoped, and an 18” PTR91 that was about 11.2 lbs also with just a scope. Both were a pain to carry once adding a suppressor hence the desire for a 16” barrel.
So for those of you who have hunted or walked long distances with an AR10, was it worth it for the extra ballistic capability at a trade off of size and weight? Or… CURVEBALL go with one of the small frame options like the Ruger SFAR, POF Rogue/Revolution, or even a DD5?
BLUF: if you carried an AR10 walking around the woods, did you say, “man this thing is too heavy”?
First rounds through the new gas gun and I couldn’t be much happier. Printed just over a minute with 118LR and probably had more in it if I took more time. Holds were stable and easy mode to 600, 750 required a bit of work with crosswinds but no big drama.
Two FTFs on some ancient “special ball” but the other 60 rounds all did their thing. Recoil was modest, this old Mega barrel is beautifully gassed. It’s a *bit* overgassed with the can but not to the point where I feel compelled to do anything about it. Vigorous 2PM ejection with the can, 3PM without it. Works for me.
In March I was diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer. May 1st I had surgery to get all the masses removed 7 of them including my Thyroid. I had decided that I’m going to dedicate my next build to this cancer and to for thyroid cancer the ribbon colors are teal, pink and purple. I figured I’d make it a splatter pattern with those colors and slowly build this rifle throughout this journey of becoming cancer free. Radiation is next and then I get scans to see if there is anymore anywhere else. This rifle will be chamber in 8.6blk with a 12” Faxon barrel and Bcg.
Assuming I’ll need to get the handguard off to get at the ejection port dust cover? Want to swap it out but seeing the billet uppers aren’t that easy. There’s no little tabs like on some others I see online.
