BWTs, what's your ideal NYC one-day shopping route for quality, interesting clothes?
I'm overdue for a warm-weather wardrobe refresh and want to spend one dedicated day shopping in NYC. I'm looking for quality clothes that are classic with a little personality. Not super trendy, not fast fashion, not trying to dress like a 22-year-old influencer. Late 30s, casual office + weekend life. Dresses, rompers, beautiful blouses, light pants, easy city outfits, plus a wedding guest dress. I do a lot of RTR, but I need a little arsenal of longer-term wardrobe pieces I can rely on.
If you were sending a friend out for a day of shopping, where would you tell her to start and where would you send her next? Hoping to break out of the standard Ref/Zara/Everlane rotation and discover some new-to-me brands and shops. (Recently found Rails, for example and that seems like maybe the right vibe, but I haven't been yet.)
I'm petite and non-standardly proportioned, so short-girl-friendly brands/stores are appreciated, although tailoring is probably inevitable.
And before anyone says thrift: I know this sub has amazing thrifting recs, but I'm a working mom trying to dedicate exactly one day to this mission and need a higher hit rate this season. One day I'll return to the racks. Thanks bitches!!!
ETA The suggestions so far are absolutely amazing. Love you BWTs!!
