Experiences in NYC luxury buildings?
Hi BWT, wondering if anyone else lived in a luxury building in NYC and what your experience was like. Was it worth it? TYIA

Howdy bitches. Do you guys know of any lower cost driving lessons? I don't have $50 for individual classes, and I definitely don't have hundreds of dollars for a package. Do you know of any nonprofits, church groups, or any programs at all where lessons are a little more affordable? Preferably in Brooklyn or Queens
**class D license options only please
Hi gals! Just moved to Clinton Hill and loving the area but searching for a gym! Hoping to crowdsource from people who've actually used both.
I'm coming from a free-weights + F45-style class background (was an instructor in Sydney), so this would be a step up into full-facility territory.
Appreciate any real experience!
Parents visiting nyc this week!!! Please send me your fav fun things to do/what you’re doing this week! (they’ve done all the touristy stuff there is to do) :)
I have a wedding this fall in India. Are there any local spots I can go to for outfits or any online stores someone can recommend? I am a little out of my element and the itenerary calls for 4-5 outfits with specific themes.

Hi! My co-founder and I recently graduated from Harvard Business School and are building TRACE, a retail-tech startup rethinking how people shop. We were recently featured on Alix Earle's TikTok and are preparing for a bigger launch this fall.
We're looking for a social media intern who is deeply online, has amazing taste and style, understands internet culture, and has an instinct for cool content that's worth sharing. Must be based in NYC.
You'll work directly with us on content and creative strategy, with real autonomy and ownership, helping grow our presence across TikTok. This is a rare chance to shape a very early stage startup from the ground up.
If this sounds like you, email me at ella@addtrace.com with a little about yourself and any content or accounts you've worked on. Please also tag or send this to anyone who immediately comes to mind!
Paying $20/hr, flexible based on experience
I have four timed tickets to see the Declaration of Independence tomorrow at 5:15pm at the New York Public Library in Bryant park. Let me know if any of you guys want the tickets before I cancel them!

Hey NYCBWT friends-- I've been (desperately) looking for full-time work in the sciences or healthcare for about six months now, and nothing seems to be going anywhere. I graduated with a BS in neuroscience and have about 5.5 years of combined research/healthcare experience. ANY ADVICE for me or people like me in finding NYC research jobs would be much appreciated!!
I also hear that most of the hospitals only really hire internally or through employee referrals. If anyone would want to talk with me about that, too, you'd be my hero.
Also, while I'm prioritizing clinical research work, I'm also looking at STEM-adjacent jobs (science consulting, medical writing, data analysis, etc.). Any advice for finding that kind of work in NYC would be amazing, too. I love love love to learn new things, and I'm very very adaptable!!
I’m not sure if this is the right flair but would be happy to fix if needed :)
Hi my gals! I’m just a 27 year old girl who is getting rid of a TON of random clothing because it overwhelmed me and I just realized that I don’t need as much as I had and it is so wasteful to just throw away!
I have about 3-4 HUGE trash bags of clothing. Some fit from a U.S. size 6-10 and others fit from a U.S. size 18-22! All clothing is washed and cleaned, 98% don’t have stains or anything that ruins the clothing. I’m giving them away because I indulged once and some of these pieces I haven’t worn in a long time, some 1 year+!!!
They range from jeans, basic tees, mini shirts, crop tops, skirts, dresses, etc. Some are shein (sorry, I had a phase a while ago) and some are anything from Boohoo, Fashion Nova, Aeropostale and old navy! And some thrifted and brands I don’t know off the top of my head.
The bags that are sizes that are 18-22 are FREE because as a plus size girl, plus size clothing is so darn hard to find that fits, is cute, and affordable! So my plus size girls…I GOT YOU! These are going to be “surprise bags” (basically there are too many to take photos of but could be anything that fit these sizes).
Two bags of size 8-10 are also “surprise bags” I’m going to sell both for $50. And then there are “special” things like expensive / nice dresses and stuff that were expensive that I’d like to sell and those prices can be negotiated :)
I don’t have pics rn but if you are interested, comment/message me and I’d be happy to send you pictures of samples from the surprise bags and then pics of the specific pieces I’m selling :) THANK YOU ALL SM! Much love and happiness to all my girls <3
Happy Monday, tasteful bitches of New York. As a means to mitigate off topic posts, we are testing a weekly auto mod posts for discussions about the emotional journey of being a New Yorker. New York is a lonely city sometimes and living in our shoebox palaces can be isolating.
Talk about it here, schedule your next NYCBWT drink meetup or Sunday run club, or just vent and talk to fellow NYers.
There is one hard and fast rule designed for your safety: Meet ups MUST BE IN A PUBLIC LOCATION. If you are planning an event in the future, please message mods before posting.
Thanks everyone for keeping this subreddit a safe place and for adhering to the post rules. Please message the mods or comment on this post if you have other weekly thread suggestions.
Selling my full-size Nectar Classic mattress and bed frame. The mattress is 12" thick with medium-firm support, memory foam, excellent back support, and proper spinal alignment.
The mattress has always been protected with a waterproof mattress cover, so it's clean and in great condition.
Very comfortable
Easy to assemble
Great condition
This set retails for around $800 new, but I'm asking $100 OBO because I recently upgraded to a king-size bed and need it gone by the end of the week.
Pickup only. Buyer must disassemble, load, and transport the bed.
Message me if you're interested or have any questions!
Hi guys! Sorry if this isn't appropriate to post here, but I'm a petsitter with a wide open gap in my calendar that I'm trying to fill, and it's been a nightmare!
I usually use TrustedHousesitters, but there are slim pickings there at the moment, perhaps because of the World Cup. I'm currently on a one-month-long sit in Clinton Hill, looking after two wonderful 10-year-old rescue cats. Previously, I looked after cat duos in Crown Heights and Ocean Hill, another very sweet and anxious cat in Bedstuy, and dogs in Park Slope.
A bit about me: I'm an Asian-Australian journalist new to NYC. I have full working rights. I've moved here alone and am trying to get settled. I love cats and dogs so much and have been doing this work for about two years, both in the US and Australia!
If you're interested, I'll send you a link to my Trusted Housesitters profile, which is full of glowing reviews.
Thanks for reading!
Hi all, I’m looking for a female photographer to help execute a photoshoot sometime early August!!! I’m looking for someone who has worked with women of color and specifically in black and white, and who has more of a film/vintage vibe overall. Transparently, I’m looking for someone under $300, and am open to all levels of photography as long as they have previous shoots they’ve done. Attaching some reference pics of what i’m looking for, pls reach out if you have someone in mind or if you think you’d like to work together!!!
Edit - I’m not looking for professional photos and am doing this shoot for myself!!!
Hello! I'm leaving NYC and have some furniture and things in my apartment to sell or give away.
I do want to say a big thank you to everyone in this sub. It has been so helpful to me throughout my time here so thank you to everyone who posts and offers advice - I would not have survived without it!
Now on to the furniture. It is all in great condition. I've heard of people using Facebook marketplace but I don't have an FB account. I was wondering if there are any other ways people recommend selling things they no longer need? Craiglists seems really sketchy. I was looking at AptDeco and my local Nextdoor group. I wonder if I just post it if people will come and take it?
I have a really good sofa, rug, coffee table, lamp and some other things too like basic kitchen appliances and plates/cutlery. The kitchen stuff I was going to donate (I think Housing Works would take it). I have a great mattress but have heard it's impossible to sell those, but it is in amazing condition.
I am so sad about leaving. I've been here 3 years and I've been mourning the move for a long time but life goals changed and I had to make some tough but necessary decisions. Anyways, I'd appreciate any advice!
Girls, this is my 911. My white flag, my defeat. I need a hairdresser who can look at my hair and tell me exactly what I need and give me a cut that makes sense. I’ve tried so many hairdressers over the years, the only person who ever gave me a cut I truly loved is my friend who is a few years dead now.
My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and is super malleable- I can go from light waves to curls (could be 2A, could be 3B). I need someone who can give me a cut but also help with care & product. I will straight up pay any amount of money for the right person. Please help!
Hi!! I acquired a custom fur coat and would like to sell it. Anyone know of stores that buy fur that they trust in the city?
Hi! I just turned 30 and am finally starting to pay attention to my physical appearance. I'm starting to experience first hand how I'm treated better when dressed well and also more respected at work when I'm put together? I also feel more confident when I'm dressed better but somehow I feel I still miss that 'polished' look I see the women in Amsterdam have.
I'm visiting NYC in October from Netherlands and would love your recommendations on activities in NYC for a glow up. I already have Lily's Color Lab on my list but was wondering if you have recommendations on any other activities, services or stores I can shop at? Stuff like a good bra fitting or body analysis (saw Lily's Color lab has that one, has anyone tried it?)
For some background, I'm a WOC and petite so would prefer recommendations a bit tailored services/activities that experience with WOC/diverse people.
Also would love any recommendations on must buy items while in USA/NYC!
Edit: My budget would be around 1k for all services combined. But can spend a bit extra apart from this for clothes
Hi lovelies🩷
Is anyone else celebrating a birthday on Tuesday,7th and spending it solo in the city? This will be my third birthday celebrating alone, and I thought I’d try something different this time and see if there’s a birthday twin out there who’d want to celebrate together.
Doesn’t have to be exactly July 7th either , if your birthday falls anywhere this week, I’d love to celebrate together. I’ve taken time off work and really want to do something nice..
Seeing a lot of people at the maritime parade doing the scary heat sways. Please take in some electrolytes!
