Pattern i noticed in season 9

every episode has rick lose control of something, leading to him having the opportunity to turn out better, before he elects to throw it away and return to the status quo

ep 1: he loses his autonomy to evil morty, instead of trying to see the effects of his actions from another person he continues the cycle and gets him arrested
ep 2: he loses his memory and identity, turning into a genuinely better guy, even then he very slowly turns back into his old miserable self anyways
ep 3: he gets death punched and cant walk forward for being an asshole, instead of seeing how he was the cause of the whole situation he out-petties the guy by kicking his ass back
ep 4: he loses control of his house and alcohol supply because he decided to trick morty into emotionally relying on a robot, instead of changing he chugs 5 flasks at the end of the episode to show morty that hes willing to do this the easy way or the hard way
ep 5: he gets genuinely scared of the possibility of jerry getting a job since that would mean losing that aspect of his life, he then decides to find any place to get rid of the cause of jerrys success, selling it to the dog people he would normally give 0 shits about
ep 6: his head and body get separated and both turn out better for it, when morty and summer call him out on it he makes them hate the nice things in life
ep 7: hes stripped of his tech and forced to live in an ecosystem, learns thanks to morty that cooperation can save them, then abandons everyone else
ep 8: he gets infected with a sympathid and lets his real emotions peer through, he literally drinks the sympathid out by the end of the episode
ep 9: he gets high with beth and jerry and loses his intellect, letting him connect with everyone better emotionally, but then he only serves as a human shield and only cares about the high
ep 10: we finally see the life he couldve had if he gave up drinking, yet again he elects to return to the cycle and relapse

first time oil painting, what do i need to know ahead of time

i have not touched a physical medium other than pencil in like 8 years and i was asked to paint a large piece, was tempted to decline until i saw that its basically just a large gradient which i can totally do (image is a digital recreation of one of the reference images), theres apparently a bunch of oil paint and brushes at my late grandfathers house so ill be using those, what should i know ahead of time, should i get linseed oil or not, should i prime the canvas somehow, should i varnish or not, i heard something about fat over lean but i dont exactly get what that means, any help is welcome, mainly what i should buy for this (within a very reasonably price range)

ralseis light world counterpart is definetly an object on susies person, since hes only there when she is and he evidently doesnt need kris to be there, he could alternatively be something thats like omnipresent but either way we know its not an object that kris carries around

paradis only knows of humanity vs the titans, if you rewatch the show youll notice that theres a motivational speech about how fighting is humanitys only hope every other episode, and it makes sense from their perspective, they in fact do need the motivation every time a hundred soldiers has to throw their life away to achieve some goal and its really hard to say the motivation is misguided when to their knowledge they are all that exists of humanity and everything that opposes them is not human and permissible to kill, this means that when theyre faced with other actual countries with real people it becomes very very easy to justify killing them, even though the situation has definitely changed

though this sentiment does also extend to outside the show, a large portion of the viewers DO side with the yeagerists and see the genocide as being fully justified, if you look at youtube comments talking about the genocide being justified theyll literally say something like "those that side with paradis are those that heard erwins speech", and thats literal war propaganda in action breaching through the 4th wall and directly influencing the viewers, so when you say "well being pro rumbling here is just demonstrably evil and irredeemable" while i think to a certain extent youre absolutely right, i also think you also arent really engaging with the media in the way it was intended, the pro rumbling side is meant to be an understandable position to take, even if it is very much misguided and fueled by propaganda

also just as a side note i see a lot of people trying to claim that if erwin was alive he would side with eren, similarly a misguided take but in that particular case we literally see erwin greeting hange after she dies telling her what a good job she did at slowing down the rumbling
