Helix Mattress got firmer ??
Helix Midnight felt way softer than the store model on arrival, then firmed up over weeks — isn’t the break-in period supposed to work the other way?
When our Helix Midnight was delivered, it felt surprisingly soft — almost like a completely different mattress than the floor model we tried. It had this sinking quality that honestly had me second-guessing the purchase.
What’s throwing me off is that everything I’ve read about mattress break-in periods describes the opposite experience — a new mattress arriving too firm and gradually softening as the materials compress and conform. Ours seemed to arrive too soft and has since gotten firmer, which feels counterintuitive.
Fast forward a few weeks and it’s noticeably more supportive. My wife and I mostly sleep separately, so she laid on it shortly after delivery and again recently — completely independently said it feels like a much firmer mattress now. So it’s not just me going crazy.
We did wait a full 24 hours before sleeping on it, so that wasn’t the issue. Has anyone else had a Midnight that arrived on the softer side and then firmed up during the break-in period? Curious if this is more common than I think or if we just got a weird one.
