Mike & his paper bag

Man, I swear, every time I see an image of him pre game, he's carrying that paper bag.

What is in the paper bag?!

Hi, here's my (49M) situation:

I've been hired as a senior solution architect for a data platform at a small consulting company based in US but through one of the ROE companies in Canada. That was just under 2 months ago.

I've been assigned to a project with a difficult "situation" and it seems what was needed there, it was more of a technical lead/developer for that platform as well as other nondata platforms involved. Now they're asking me to do devops and help coordinate a multi platform deployment. I do not have the skills and experience to do this. As a senior data architect I'm usually involved in solution design, data architecture and client facing workshops but I occasionally do help with the configuration. However devops is a bridge too far for me.

I have the HR meeting booked, so I expect they will fire me since they realized they hired for the wrong skillset.

I was headhunted so I have left a stable job at my previous company paying over 240k CAD per year to join them. I do not think I can easily find something similar in the current market (I'm in QC) for this level of seniority and pay.

My question is: what would be a fair notice/compensation to ask as severance? I know that time with the company is very short but according to Civil Code in Quebec, I should be entitled to something that is not zero given my situation, seniority and salary level.

And maybe follow up question: if they refuse or low ball me, what are my next steps and timelines I should expect?

Thank you în advance
