Lost a good one today

Two years ago we noticed a cat with a broken back leg in our yard, so we trapped him and got his leg amputated. He was released back in our yard and we've been sheltering and feeding him since. He was never one of our inside cats, but he was part of our family.

I'm watching the Canadiens Buffalo game 7 tonight and during the first intermission a neighbour knocked on our door to inform us that he drowned in her pool. So I had to go over there and placed him in a garbage bag and he's in my freezer until my girlfriend can bring the corpse to the shelter tomorrow.

We're both completely destroyed emotionally. I'm watching the game, which I was excitedly and nervously following, but now I'm having a hard time caring.

He had also bonded with another array and I'm sad for him as well. He spent his day frantically pacing on my deck and we knew something was up

Anyways, here's Lieutenant, may he rest in peace. He was a stray, but he was still part of our family. I'm posting so that he's not forgotten.

Playoff Poutines FTW

Made some poutines Sunday with homemade fries and fresh curds and the Habs won. Superstitiona being what they are in the playoffs, guess what we're eating again tonight?

Not healthy to have it twice in three days but y'know, Go Habs Go!

Great day at the record store

Social Distortion and Jukebox Charley are preorders that were a month late due to some distribution issues. And the ISIS albums came in yesterday.

Currently listening to Charley as it's the only one I've never heard, and I gotta say it's his best album since Man from Waco. Great stuff. Absolutely pumped for Isis, always loved that band. And that Social Distortion album is the only from the first 3 and Live at the Roxy that I was missing and it's a beautiful red marble pressing. I was curious for the new album but after listening to the first two songs I determined that shit is awful. His voice is annoying nowadays and I can't stand that little goddamn hat he's always wearing. Early stuff is fantastic though.

Finally got my hands on Ironman so now I think the only *good solo debut I'm missing is Brooklyn Zoo. All of these are excellent, but Liquid Swords is on another level. Simply the best of the bunch.
