I’m currently in the market for a Macbook M5 Air, but the pricing situation is honestly wild.

Right now, sellers are listing it for 380k-400k PKR, which is like a 70-80k premium over MSRP. I understand import costs, profit margins, and the fact that Apple doesn’t officially operate here, but this feels excessive.

What makes it even more confusing is they are now selling the M4 Air base model for around 335–340k (IT USED TO BE 285K!!!)

Even the 16GB/512GB M4 Air is priced similar to the base M5 Air.

So the newer model isn’t just expensive, the whole market feels misaligned.

For those who’ve tracked Apple pricing in Pakistan before:

- How long does it usually take for new Macbooks to settle near MSRP?

- Is it better to wait a few months, or do prices stay inflated long term?

- Any patterns you’ve noticed with previous launches?

-Ik that the ongoing war is most definitely a contributing factor to this, but do you think the sellers are exploiting this?

I don’t mind paying a small premium (10-15k), but 70k+ just doesn’t make sense to me.

Would appreciate any insights from people who’ve been through this before.
