I just bought these Knipex 85 01 250 SmartGrip auto-adjusting pliers from Amazon.

I noticed the jaws/teeth don’t always completely close together. There’s a small gap at the top, like you can see in the pictures.

The mechanism is spring-loaded, so I’m not sure if this is just how these pliers are designed or if something is wrong with mine.

For anyone who owns the Knipex 85 01 250, is this normal?

Or should I get a replacement while I’m still within the return window?
