Floofy butt; grooming

My pumpkin has a glorious round butt. But it is getting matted from his adventuring. He is also quite a big boy and has some powerful back legs. I have experience doing medical grooming and grooming, bunnies but he is a whole other level of stubborn. He is also fearless and quite an impressive jumper. He has a very sweet and friendly disposition, so he’s never aggressive and doesn’t bite, but he just runs in circles and “jukes” and will kick.

Does anyone have any ideas or tricks for an athletic and stubborn boy? He is about 15 pounds; he’s 6 mths, neutered, and can jump about 4 1/2 feet comfortably.

New mate: Lucy Fae

My daughter got me my little hobgoblin, Pumpkin, several months ago (she owed it to me. She ran off to college and took my beautiful grand-buns away (it’s in town, I’m being dramatic)).

He is loving and playful and extremely curious and resourceful. Sometimes not always in the best ways, but he’s chaotically perfect to me. I noticed that he was extremely (almost frighteningly) friendly and I was planning on finding him a mate this summer once he was all healed up from his castration.

About four weeks postpartum I get a call that the lady given my daughter the bunny had somebody returned another bunny from the litter just after his. She wasn’t getting along with the other bunny they had adopted and was being bullied and too high energy. I guess the people also didn’t want her because she was a champagne color and not recognized? I don’t know about all that because I only have them as pets. I fell in love with her instantly and set up a “date” for them after her quarantine, she ended up leaving with us that day.

It was love at first sight for them and we have now been a few weeks of bonding without a single fight. They save that energy to gang up on me now and mooch for snacks 🥰
