Accom help - 42 week vs 50 week contracts

Incoming international WBS PG here. I’m trying to understand the 8-week difference in contract lengths. I’m deciding between Benefactors (50 weeks) and Cryfield Studio (42 weeks). I do like Cryfield because of the private kitchen space, but the shorter contract period is what’s holding me back a bit.

Looking for some advice/clarity on UK recruitment cycles - MBA roles

I’m an incoming international MBA student at Warwick starting this September, and I’m currently trying to understand how finance recruiting cycles work in the UK. I come from 7 years of GCC solar project management experience, with no prior finance background, so I’m looking into internship opportunities as part of a career pivot.

What surprised me was seeing that recruitment for some internship roles seems to start as early as August for the following year. At the same time, many of the openings appear targeted mainly at undergraduates or first-year Master’s students, so I’m trying to understand where MBA candidates fit into the process.

I’d really appreciate any advice on how to approach the transition into finance, especially around recruiting timelines, internship cycles, and how someone with a non-traditional background can position themselves effectively.

And yes, I’m aware the market is tough right now, especially for internationals trying to pivot industries, but I’d still love to understand how people successfully navigate it.
