accom guidance

hi everyone, incoming first-year Economics BSc student here (starting Sept 2026), international student, currently ranking my accommodation preferences and could really use input from people actually living on campus right now.
My current order: Heronbank → Lakeside → Claycroft → Bluebell → Westwood → Tocil → Rootes
What I care about, roughly in order:

En suite or max 2-person shared bathroom (no big communal bathrooms)

Small double bed (120x190) if possible, but not a dealbreaker

Walking distance to Economics/Social Sciences lectures

Good value for money, not necessarily cheapest but shouldn’t be the most expensive one either

Social but not overcrowded… I like knowing my flatmates, not living in chaos, but i still would love to socialise in parties often like i go out and party but also need to actually lock in and study, so I don’t want a hall so social it’s impossible to focus

Questions for anyone currently living in these halls:
If you’re in Lakeside/Heronbank/Sherbourne, how bad is the walk to central campus/Economics lectures honestly, day to day

For any international students specifically… which hall made it easiest to make a real friend group?

Genuinely appreciate any honest takes, good or bad. Trying to make an informed call before I submit since apparently you can’t change it after.

Transferring courses 🙏 🙏

Hi everyone,

Im an upcoming history student at warwick. I no longer want to be in the arts department because of interest and I am wondering how feasible it is. For example transferring to Econ, psych, philosophy. Is the transfer too drastic? Also if the course is over subscribed? Any advice would be great please. 🙏

Spare time?

I have an offer to study mathematics at Warwick, and I think I have met it (fingers crossed). I’m wondering how much spare time people (from any subject) have so I don’t overload and join too many things. Here’s a list of things I may want to spend my time on:

Climbing
Badminton
Chess
Finance Society (largely for career reasons)
Christian Union
Debating
Learning language

I am not expecting to do over even 2 or 3 things from the list, it is just a list of my interests which I may consider doing at university. Does anyone have advice on how much time I will have free to pursue my interests? Any experience you can share will be helpful.
Thanks

University of Warwick MSc student – Is Vita Student Copper Towers the best studio accommodation? (Need honest opinions)

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student from India and I’ll be starting my MSc in Computer Science at the University of Warwick this September. I’m looking for a private studio with my own kitchen and bathroom (I don’t want a shared flat), and after a lot of research I’m leaning towards Vita Student Copper Towers.

Before I book, I’d really appreciate honest opinions from people who have lived there or know someone who has.

A few things about my situation:

  • I’ll be studying at the University of Warwick, so I’ll be commuting to campus most weekdays.
  • My girlfriend will be studying in London, so I’ll probably travel to London quite often, and she’ll likely visit me once every 2–3 weeks and stay for 2 nights (occasionally 3 nights).
  • My priorities are safety, a modern building, good management, fast Wi-Fi, cleanliness, and a comfortable place to live for a year.
  • I don’t mind paying more if the experience is genuinely worth it.

I’d love to know:

  1. Is Copper Towers worth the premium price?
  2. How is the commute to Warwick in reality? Does it get tiring?
  3. How safe is the area during the day and at night?
  4. Is the building itself well managed? How are maintenance and reception staff?
  5. How’s the noise level? Can you hear traffic or neighbours?
  6. How reliable is the Wi-Fi?
  7. Are the social events actually good, or do people rarely attend?
  8. If you’ve stayed in a studio, did it feel spacious enough?
  9. Has anyone had experience with overnight guests? Is having my girlfriend stay for 2 nights every couple of weeks (occasionally 3 nights) generally okay, or is management strict about the guest policy?
  10. Looking back, would you choose Copper Towers again, or would you pick somewhere else like Vita Cannon Park, CODE Fairfax Street, or iQ Weaver Place?

I’m looking for completely honest feedback—both the good and the bad. If there are any hidden issues or things you wish you knew before moving in, I’d really appreciate hearing about them.

UCL vs Manchester vs Warwick vs Bath vs Edinburgh for MSc Marketing — which would you pick? (Indian student, priorities listed)

Hi everyone, I am an Indian student trying to decide between five UK universities for a Master's in Marketing and would really love input from people who have studied at these places or know them well.
My offers so far:

University of Warwick — MSc Marketing
University of Bath — MSc Marketing
University of Edinburgh — MSc Marketing
University of Manchester — MSc Marketing
UCL — still waiting (MSc Marketing Science)

Background: I grew up between Nepal and India, have interned at a startup in Mumbai and a media company in Kathmandu, and my family runs an FMCG business. I want to keep my career options open after graduation — possibly working in the UK for a couple of years before eventually returning to India.
My priorities in order:

  1. Student life (this is the biggest one for me — I want a social, fun experience and ideally a strong Indian student community)
  2. Internship opportunities
  3. Brand reputation
  4. Employability in India after graduation
  5. Course structure and quality
  6. Campus experience
  7. Cost

Would love honest perspectives especially from people who are currently studying there or have recently graduated. Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Warwick offer

I was predicted to achieve 2 A Levels and had a school average of over 90%. However, my final school average was 88.2%. If I still achieve the A Level grades that were predicted for me, would I still have a chance of being accepted?

Looking for someone to take over my contract

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy at JY Living for next year.
📍 Cannon Hill Road, CV4 7DE
🛏️ En-suite room
💷 £177/week
📅 44-week contract (can be shortened with 2 months’ notice)

The house is about a 15-minute walk to the University of Warwick and only 5 minutes from Tesco, so it’s really convenient for both campus and groceries.

There’s a large outdoor yard/garden area, and you’ll be living with 7 other male students. The house also has two shared kitchens (one on each floor), which helps keep things less crowded.

You can view the accommodation here:
https://www.jyliving.co.uk/apt.html?id=353&lanType=2

I’m looking to transfer the tenancy for the next academic year. If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to drop me a message and I’ll be happy to share more details.
Thanks!

Does anyone here commute and home have you found it? Any tips?
