I want to fix some minor plastic webbing cracks before I use this vcr, but I’m not entirely sure what the plastic is made out of and what type of glue is best to use here.
I have super glue, 2 part epoxy, and 2 part jb weld on hand but could get something else if these are no good here.
I circled some of the cracks in red, there are a couple more not in the photo but all are on this plastic webbing.
I noticed my shifter got louder and it seems a plastic washer disintegrated. Does anyone know what type and size of washer is supposed to go here? Is it just this one or am I overlooking something?
It’s been a while since I got the ole girl out and for whatever reason I don’t remember the shifter sounding like this. It only makes the sound in neutral when you wiggle the stick to the left side in the play zone before you put any pressure on it to make it go farther to shift into 1st. It sounds like the shift rod is contacting right at the base on the shifter. Sounds like metal on metal. I have not taken the console panels off yet to really look, just trying to see if I even need to investigate or is it just normal good to go.
I had this working Sony vcr on a shelf and took it down to clean. Dusted it off with an air compressor and when I flipped it over to wipe the bottom I heard rattling inside. Found this broken piece and spring. Is this fixable? Where does this piece go if so. Thank you!
