Issues with Rodecaster video EDL files
Hey everyone,
Just picked up the new RODECaster Video and trying to use it for a multicam shoot. I’m attempting to import the project via the .otio file option to bring in all my isolated camera feeds with the live cuts already done.
In Premiere Pro, the cuts do not match what I actually recorded live. All the clips on my timeline look almost double the length they are supposed to be, the cuts are happening in completely wrong spots, and the media is out of bounds.
Thinking it was just an Adobe bug, I tossed the project into DaVinci Resolve, but the exact same thing happens. Resolve spits out a ton of error logs stating:
Mismatch between specified target timecodes and located file timecodes.
In my testing it seems like the timeline expects a clip that is roughly 39 seconds long, but the actual MP4 file on my drive is only 19 seconds.
If I take that raw 19-second clip on the timeline and manually stretch it out (making it 2x slower to fill the 40-second timeline space), the cuts suddenly match up perfectly! But obviously, everything is playing in slow motion and the audio is completely bricked.
Has anyone else experienced this? Similarty, I'm also experiencing issues with otio files handling custom scenes with multiple cameras and backgrounds, sometimes project files seem sort of bricked because of these. There isn't much content or info about using these otio files online but i specifically bought the rodecaster video for this functionality.
How do I get Premiere or Resolve to interpret these cuts correctly at normal playback speed without manually stretching everything?
Is there a hidden setting on the RODECaster or a framerate interpretation trick I'm missing? I tried recording at 29.97, 30 and 23.97 fps. Tried changing my camera hdmi out settings. Tried updating premiere. Changed rodecaster recording settings.
Appreciate any sanity checks here, because I am losing mine. Thanks!
