I'm not really sure where to start. I'm curious if I could ever find a man to share my life with.
I only discovered that I was asexual in the last few years. I always thought there was something medically wrong so I've spent my entire adult life trying to make relationships work with hypersexual men.
I am not sex repulsed but I think my experiences have made me sex averse. I believe there to be potential for favorability with the right person but it's not important to me to get to that point either. I apologize, I do not know all of the terms and abbreviations under the umbrella of asexuality.
I do have aesthetic attraction unfortunately. Everything logical within me is disappointed in myself for this but alas, it is me.
I am also neurodivergent. I don't know the terms for what I am in this regard either. I can't keep up with all the labels and letters lol. I have adhd and some mild sensory preferences. None of this is so severe that it can not be masked when needed. Most people have no idea I live with the quirks that I do.
I would love to find a man who is looking for or interested in a somewhat traditional straight monogamous relationship.
I work very hard but I do dream of a day that I might be able to slow down and focus more on traditional domestic duties. I was born to be a wife and it's definitely where I thrive. But I also acknowledge the time that we live in and understand that it's often necessary to have 2 incomes. I've been working full time my entire adult life and more often than not have been the primary earner in my relationships. (Not because I earn all that much but because I have a habit of choosing partners poorly).
I tend to step up and problem solve and I think this leads others to feel comfortable relaxing and offering less effort. I'm working on better communicating my expectations, limits and needs.
I live in the New England area of the USA. I have a 10 year old son that I coparent with his father. No drama. But this does keep me anchored to this area for a time.
