Is working assisted living for night shift easier than day shift?
What are your thoughts on a PT hospital job for Med/Surg for nights? This would be my first CNA job with no experience.
I am also a full time college student who has classes during the day on Tuesdays/Thursdays. So I could do Friday nights and Sunday nights.
Can anyone tell me their experience with Home Instead? I am a full-time college student and it seems flexible enough for me to do home health, considering I could make my own schedule and whatnot. Anything helps, thanks!
I recently got my certification in NC for my CNA. I am a full-time pre-nursing college student, but would like to start working maybe 1 12 hour shift a week or 2 8 hour shifts a week. I don’t really want to work in a nursing home. I’m pretty socially awkward and scared of doing things wrong and my brain just blanking. I am also overweight, so it would take adjustment. I didn’t enjoy the nursing home for clinicals, but especially because I’d be alone doing the work. I’d much rather prefer a PRN hospital setting, but I know that’s pretty unrealistic.
Was anyone else very scared for starting to work? If you could recommend where to start, which would you pick? Any recommendations for NC help as well. Thank you in advance!
Hi ladies (and maybe men)! I hope you all are doing well and I just wanna say thank you for fostering such an amazing community!
I am 19 and have PMOS. I have been overweight my entire life. I used to be 315 lbs, but have got down to 255 with the help of a GLP-1 and lifestyle changes. I joined this group because I have PCOS and am confident I will have some difficulties conceiving. I have had my period consistently for 4 months now, but was at a time where I went a year without one.
I deeply desire a husband and children one day in the near future. For my PMOS ladies with extra weight, hirstuism, inflammation, etc, did you need to regulate those before finding a husband and seeking to date? I see so many men nowadays put appearance on a pedestal and sort of disregard character. I am very self-conscious because of this and feel like I need to change in order for a man to love me like this.
Any encouragement or advice helps. Feel free to tell me your love story!! Thank you in advance!
Pre-Nursing sophomore here!
I am taking Anatomy/Phys 1 and 2 this school year and wondered if anyone had any studying tips?
I got As in both chemistries and microbiology, but I feel like anatomy is way different study-wise.
Please let me know any tips or suggestions yall have for studying whether it be ways to study, websites, or YouTube channels! TIA and thank you for all you future nurses do!!! You’re awesome!
Hello everyone. I recently passed my state exam, so I’m very new with little to no experience. I have a nurse family friend that will refer me for a job at the hospital. Some of the areas I was most interested in were orthopedics, post-surgical, labor and delivery, and mother-baby. She said she could help out and can definitely find me a part-time job.
Which area do you think would be best for a new CNA without experience? TIA!
I took my skills exam today in NC. I got handwashing, blood pressure, dressing with weak right arm, foot care, and PPE. I know I forgot the call light on blood pressure and I realized my ppe gown came loose around my neck when I was removing it (I don’t know if it came loose before or after showing the evaluator). My evaluator was ok—she didn’t pay attention much so I have no idea how I did. I am nervous I failed. Those are the only places I think I messed up. Do you think I would easily fail for that?
Hi everyone. I am a Pre-Nursing Sophomore and have a few questions/concerns about the application process and what-not. If there is any UNCC nursing school student, could I please talk to you on here or over DM? TIA!
Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well.
I take my skills exam a week from Sunday (so 7/19) and my written test a week from today (7/16). I’m extremely nervous and anxious about them. I did well in my class, but still extremely scared. Does anyone have any tips or advice that helped them pass the first time? I’m doing the Credentia tests and I’m in North Carolina. Anything helps, truly!!! TIA!
I am about to finish my CNA certification and am wanting to find a job that’s like 16 hours a week for a new CNA.
I am a sophomore in college, so I will be pretty busy with school. I am very anxious about starting because I am overweight and I’m worried my body will not handle it well. I’m obviously working on losing weight, but it’ll take time. I am also scared about messing up/making mistakes, the residents being jerks, etc. I am so nervous to do it on my own, especially never having a job in healthcare before.
Any advice for me? Thank you❤️
Hi everyone! I just joined this group today.
I am in North Carolina and I’m taking my Credentia Skills Exam relatively soon (this summer). Do y’all have any recommendations of testing sites in NC that were good experiences? Feeling pretty nervous about it. Or any tips in general? TIA!!!
I recently requested to be a TA and the professor said for me to do 10 hours of tutoring. Do you get paid for all those 10 hours or only the hours people come to? I don’t know if I can do 10 so I might request otherwise, but just figured I’d ask around of y’all’s opinions. TIA!
