Summer financial aid refund

I am taking summer 1 & 2 classes, but I haven’t received my refund yet. My banking info for my BOA acct is correct. Not sure how much longer I should wait before asking the school. 🙃

Paying for housing

Hey guys, I'm looking at some off-campus housing and wondering if I can pay for it. For students who receive the Pell grant and the other two grants, is it usually enough to get a refund for housing?

Good apartments close to uncc?

Im looking for an apartment right now for next year and I know 2 that seem decent. University village seems pretty solid and cheap but reviews are iffy but old. The other is The Drake which is good but more expensive. I dont have a car to bring to campus with me so apartments that are walkable or have buses that go to campus is needed. Me and a friend want to room together so if anyone needs 2 people we would be down.

If anyone has lived at University Village or The Drake hearing about your time there would be great.

When can I expect my degree to get mailed?

I still haven't received my degree yet. I know grade submissions got delayed to May 12th, but I've also heard degree turnaround times to be super quick so I'm a bit concerned.

Need good hotel options for visiting campus

My kid is starting in fall of this year. We only live a couple of hours away so anticipate visiting a couple of times a year. Does anyone have decent and affordable hotel suggestions near campus?

Waitlist- which email does it notify?

My son is waitlisted for a few classes for Fall and just wondering will they email his Charlotte email only as notification or do they call or email personal email?

How long do you have to check it before they go to next person?

It’s just nerve racking not being registered but for 1 class as a full time transfer student!! Any idea when he might start getting a notification? After summer session(s) or near the start of fall semester? Thanks!!

PhD Regalia

I will be graduating with my Ph.D. from UNCC. How much does doctoral regalia typically cost? There's no information about pricing available online.

Intern Housing

Hi all, I’m looking for a sublease or room from August 2026 to April 2027 for an internship in Charlotte.

The closer to the city the better and my budget is under $1000 per month.

DM if you have anything available, thanks!

9800 University City Blvd is the #2 most-towed address in all of Charlotte — I mapped it and the other worst spots near campus

WSOC pulled CMPD records and found 650 towing calls at University City Blvd alone. If you park near campus at any apartment complex or strip mall, you’re a target.
I’ve been building a community map of Charlotte’s worst predatory towing hotspots using BBB complaints, WCNC/WSOC investigations, and city data. University City is on it.

Map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1TQK3LokhuJ9AevmtkQQFXWqou6KJYaI&usp=sharing

Been towed near campus? Drop the location in the comments and I’ll add it. Trying to make sure nobody gets hit without warning.

Summer monthly payments?

Hello! For summer classes, is there any way to do monthly payments similar to the payment plan used during the semester? I know it's a shorter time frame but I really don't want to pay everything up front before Monday as I'm not sure I can do that. Please lmk!

Transfer Credits

Hello! I'm transferring from a community college with an A.A. through the accounting pathway, my girlfriend who graduated from Charlotte with an Exercise Science B.A. and Public Health minor (not transfer student) is telling me I don't need any transfer electives credits. Is she right? Are they required, and would they not be required if I took another business minor like economics or finance? I'm really confused and wondering if these elective credits I'm taking in the summer are kinda a waste or not, any help would be appreciated!

Does S23 mean something more than just organization?

Hello I am applying to a lab on campus and the directions state that I need to name my files with "NAME_Application-S23" does S23 mean a date or like Spring 2023 and I should change it to F26 for next year or am I overthinking this?

Because if it isn't a date and maybe some code or something then it looks like I can't follow directions lol

Am I Done For?

I'm taking classes over the summer so I can graduate this spring. Was wondering if I should cut back and just graduate next summer instead, or if I should continue on? How are these professors? Are these classes going to be too hard to do over the summer? Please help!
