Hi! I’m an international student in Australia with Bupa OSHC and I’m looking into getting an adult ADHD assessment with a psychiatrist.
The assessment I’m considering costs $1,435 and uses MBS Item 291. Bupa told me they cover up to the full MBS fee after a GP referral, but I’m still confused about how much I would actually get back.
Has anyone here with Bupa OSHC had an ADHD assessment with a psychiatrist recently? How much did the assessment cost, how much did Bupa reimburse, and how much did you end up paying out of pocket?
If anyone has specifically been assessed through Yarra Clinic or Dr Essam Sarhan, I’d also love to hear your experience.

Has anyone been able to drop a unit that is a prerequisite for another unit they’re currently enrolled in after getting a medical certificate from a GP?
Is this actually possible? If you’ve done it before, what was the process? Did you need to drop both units, or was the university able to make an exception?
