On the one hand, I guess there is a risk that the company will just shut down the computer or use brain-scanning technology or caine ai for evil. And the outside world might not believe Caine anyway. But on the other hand, they could at least stop people from entering the circus, shut it down mercifully if they all agreed, or even make changes for their benefit. Changes like trying to fix the abstracted characters, making the circus world, or moving them to a server in case there is a future power outage. If they wanted to be safe they could only let Grant or some of the original alive programmers do it.
I get that Jax’s storyline is about how if you refuse to open up and change to become a better person, you can’t be saved. But the fact that Leroy, Jax’s real-world counterpart apparently doesn’t struggle with at least some of those same issues doesn’t feel very realistic. I understand that it would be depressing to show that his real-life self also was struggling due to his self-destructive behavior after he was abstracted, but otherwise, it makes it seem like the circus is the only reason Jax became the way he did. Also, side note, I'm also surprised that, considering how much Kinger and Pomni wanted to save Queenie and Jax, they don’t seem angry at Caine after learning that their real-world counterparts are living happy lives.
