Why is AI art easy, then hard, while art normally goes from hard to "easy": Learning curves, and skill ceiling.

Left to right is skill level. Down to up is "production quality".

For red, low level of skill makes shitty output, but high level of skill reaches a level above.

For dashed black, low level of skill makes something better, but achieving the same level at the high end can be impossible. And this is where generating art becomes "difficult".

- Average artist doesn't make stuff as "quality" as average prompter.

- An above average prompter and artist can make similar "quality output".

- generating art has a lower skill ceiling to art, which generally means you have less "agency" over the final production.

"You're against AI data centers but are on the internet"

There is a massive difference between AI data centers and normal one.

Netflix only needs storage and networking.

AI datacenters need all the RAM and GPUs and need to run them, which requires way more power.

This should be simple.
