Irritated area in perianal area for over a year. No diagnosis.
40 years old male. I have had itching and burning around left/front side of my anus for over a year now. My proctologist assures me it’s just irritation and I’ve been told to just use zinc oxide barrier creams. None of the creams help much except for maybe protecting area a little bit. I saw a dermatologist and she said she needs to do a biopsy and prescribed me steroid cream in the meantime. She didn’t want to actually look at the area though and just looked at some photos I’ve taken. I’ve mentioned multiple times to my proctologist that I am worried it’s cancer but she’s steadfast it’s nothing to worry about. I am getting a second opinion from another proctologist on Thursday. Can any one here shed some light on this?
