Spiritual partners or

I’m listening to the radio and this guy says he did “zvenjuzu” whatever that means😂 and when he stopped but she keeps dreaming of this man and they not having sex but they get along in the dream like they real inlove but he don’t want to see her anymore

But my thing is 😂 1. If they in a healthy relationship what’s the issue. Yes yes it’s an entity but it’s just a small hiccup

  1. Has anyone ever experienced this and what you do to make it stop
  2. Do you believe in it? Do you believe a spirit is in a forced mjolo situation with you

Because these things are used as excuses to say oh I haven’t got married because I got a demon thing inlove with me and it’s telling people I like to stay away 🤣
I don’t know it just feels kinda idk

The dating outside your race or ethnicity

All the non-Black races yes, including Indians, hate us. Let’s not argue about that part. Even within mixed communities, there are people who are taught to feel superior to fully Black people.

During slavery and colonisation, these same systems told us we were dirty, disgusting, ugly and unworthy. They said our skin was too dark, our noses were too big, our hair was too nappy, our bodies were unattractive and that everything about Blackness was inferior. But they still wanted us. They still slept with Black people, through rape and through consensual relationships. So clearly, hatred has never meant a complete lack of attraction.

The Black people considered more “acceptable” were usually the ones closer to whiteness — lighter skin, looser hair, mixed ancestry. That hierarchy didn’t just disappear. It evolved.
Now suddenly the same features they mocked us for are desirable when they’re on somebody else. Big bums, full lips, tans, long nails, loud fashion, curves — everybody wants the look. But when we naturally have it or wear it, suddenly it’s “ghetto,” “loud,” “ratchet” or “unclassy.”

Are we together?

So this is where Black men come into it.
If you are a Black man raised by Black people, surrounded your entire life by Black women with big bums, broad noses, curves, kinky hair and dark skin, but you grow up believing Black women are loud, ghetto, masculine and unclassy — then you immediately jump at Jessica — what does that say about how you were taught to view your own people?
It’s not simply, “Oh, he likes white women.” The question is why does liking white women so often come with degrading Black women?

Because if you genuinely believe the women who look like your mother, sisters, cousins and community are inherently less beautiful, less feminine or less respectable, something has happened to your perception of Blackness.
That is what I mean by internalised colonialism.

And when a non-Black woman grows up surrounded by people who think Black people are beneath them, why do we automatically assume sleeping with or dating a Black person suddenly erased everything she was taught? You absolutely can sleep next to somebody who holds prejudice against people who look like you. History already proved that attraction and hatred can exist at the same time.

And that’s the part that gets me: most groups strongly prefer their own people, yet some Black men treat getting a non-Black woman like they’ve won something especially when the “win” is accompanied by disrespecting Black women.
That mentality didn’t appear from nowhere. It came from somewhere.

Men with money

Zim Men with money

I’m tired of the hypocrisy. Yes girls love men with money! Girls love to be taken care of. Big deal! Even in marriage when a man is provider you rarely hear noise. It’s these hourly bundle characters who always want to argue against that point.

The same way men love beautiful women. Women with bums light skin slim thick or whatever the cliche type is. You’ve never seen me complain or yell at men because of their preferences.(outside of the race thing which has nothing to do with looks but a deeper internalised colonialism topic I won’t get into right now)

Some of you are trying to use me as a punching bag for your own failures. I didn’t create these rules this is a patriarchal system built by men. You wanted to be the providers. You wanted to dominate. You wanted to be the leaders. So explain to me: **how exactly are you supposed to lead and provide without finances?** 😂

What kind of reverse psychology is this? Men say they want to be **leaders, providers, respected, dominant, and in the highest-paying positions** then the second women say, “Great, those are the qualities we want in a man,” suddenly we’re terrible people? 😂 You can’t shame the shameless.

You want me to come here and tell you kuti chikuru rudo. Do you eat love? What will love do when you need an emergency c section and they’re asking for 2k? Will the power of love operate on them? Will the power of love pay bills.

Enjoy the memes 🤣🤣🤣

Left the alter

My boyfriend keeps talking about marriage. Mind you, we’ve been dating for like… a month lol so I’m not taking it seriously because this is literally how Zim men flirt. 🤣
But it actually got me thinking… what if I did take him seriously? Is this how people end up getting ghosted on their wedding or roora day?
Someone starts with their little “I’m going to marry you” jokes, then suddenly the joke gets serious, families are involved, everything is planned and paid for, and on the actual day he’s sitting there like, “Uhm… wait. Did I actually want this?”

And I’m not excusing that behaviour at all. I genuinely believe men who don’t show up to their own roora day are a close second to the devil, because what do you mean you asked someone to marry you, watched her get excited, plan everything, make payments, involve both families… and then YOU don’t show up???

Stay with someone/house hunting in zim

I hated my cottage because it never felt safe. I remember posting about it around the time I had just gotten another job. My current job was remote and only required me to clock 30 hours a week, so I started a second job that needed me on site.
The problem was that my place was far from work, and I was also in the middle of moving.
Then my friend, who lives alone in a full house, said, “Come stay with me for a while, it’ll be fun,” and I thought, great, perfect while I look for a place.
But house hunting in Zimbabwe is basically The Hunger Games.
Everything is either ridiculously overpriced or an absolute wreck, especially around the north of Samora.
Now the deadline I gave myself is approaching, and she’s suddenly acting strange. She slams doors, talks loudly on the phone, blasts music, and says random things like, “This is my aunt’s teaspoon,” as if I’m invading the entire house.

I understand that I’m in her space, but I’m hardly ever here. Even on weekends I’m usually at work, running errands, doing my maintenance appointments, or spending time with my boyfriend. I barely see her, let alone take over her space.

I’ve also been contributing a lot while I’ve stayed here paying for Zesa, gas, food, and helping with chores. Since I’m rarely around, I still make an effort to wash dishes, cook sometimes, and generally not be a burden.

And don’t get me wrong, I genuinely appreciate her helping me. On the good days, everything is fine. But the passive-aggressive behaviour is honestly starting to piss me off because… you’re the one who asked me to stay here.
Why does kindness suddenly come with an expiration date? I’m literally not even doing anything 😂

Your spouse was cheating

I’m watching this show and I’ve seen this plot multiple times even in real life but what would you do if your partner passed away and you’re completely torn and then you find out they’ve been cheating on you?

Tv shows

Is anyone into tv shows like I am. I think I’ve watched almost everything lol and I just finished House of Guinness and it was good.
I think I’ve finished my “shows I swore I’d never watch” list. Now I just don’t know. Let’s hear recommendations. The more creative the better

Girl talk

I have a lot to say about this, but I’ll keep it short. Some of you need to stop and reset because there’s no way you should be this male-centered. How do you go through life believing your only purpose is to be someone’s wife and mother? What if marriage never happens? Have you built a life for yourself outside of that? Living alone teaches you things staying sheltered never will. You learn how to survive, manage money, solve problems, and think beyond depending on someone else. That’s how many women end up building successful careers and businesses. And another thing, if you need constant supervision to “behave,” then those values were never yours to begin with. Your parents can control your timetable, not your character. People drink, smoke, have sex, and even get pregnant while living at home. Where you live doesn’t determine your morals, you do.

Some of you take pride nekupusa and it’s very alarming. That’s why when things don’t work out you’re fighting side chicks and tying beads you bought at mambokadzi on your waist to calm your man down after work. Or eating random things to make sure he has fun and not you. These are signs and symptoms of Hudofo.

I don’t like how some of you don’t behave normally. It’s actually concerning. Submission is natural, just like providing is. When someone genuinely loves and treats you well, caring for them comes naturally. I’ve even seen women who swore they’d never do certain things for a man change because they were treated with love and respect. Why are some of you constantly trying to prove yourselves to men instead of just letting healthy relationships happen naturally?

It’s disgusting to watch. You get one life and all you want to do with that 1 life is prove to another person that you’re worthy? Mxm

Swimwear

Let’s normalize wearing actual swimwear in Zimbabwe because we genuinely need to. I’ve seen people swimming in bodycon dresses, jeans, T-shirts, shorts and even jumpsuits instead of swimwear. It’s the same thing at beaches in South Africa and Beira, where you’ll see people in denim skirts, tackies and all. Everything but swimwear. Honestly, it’s so easy to spot a Zimbabwean at the beach because of this. I’m genuinely curious, what’s the issue with wearing proper swimwear??

Being respectful

Yesterday I exposed a weirdo who made a disgusting request after I’d already told him multiple times to stop. The funniest part? Even after I exposed him, he still kept pushing until I blocked him.

After that, I got a few DMs, including from people I thought were my friends, and even a comment from a woman saying I was “childish” and shouldn’t have exposed him. That got me thinking: why do we normalise sexual harassment, but not exposing the people who do it?
For a second I actually felt bad. Then I caught myself thinking… why am I feeling guilty for the way someone else chose to treat me? 😐

People keep saying, “It’s like when someone shoots their shot and you post them.” No, it isn’t. He wasn’t flirting. He wasn’t respectful. He wasn’t apologetic. He repeatedly ignored my boundaries and kept pushing after I said no. That’s not someone expressing interest. That’s someone deliberately disrespecting another person, and I’m not going to quietly accept it just to make them comfortable.

This is exactly why rape culture continues to exist in our country! We grow up hearing things like, “Unonyadzisa mhuri,” “Paunoitwa mutauro,” “Ndozvinoita vakomana,” and “Wadeepisa.” We spend more time worrying about protecting the person who crossed the line than the person they crossed it with. That’s where it starts.

Imagine you’re walking with your sister and a random man walks up to her and says, “I’ll give you this amount if you sleep with me.” I have brothers. I know for a fact they wouldn’t tell her to ignore it or keep quiet. They’d be furious. So why is it suddenly different when it’s happening online? Why are we expected to normalise behaviour that isn’t normal?

On the public Feed?Sure. Call me names, disagree with me, be upset. That’s public banter. It’s like people trash-talking each other while playing a game. But when you take the time to personally know me, ignore my boundaries, and go out of your way to blatantly disrespect me, don’t expect me to protect your reputation. If you don’t want to be exposed, don’t behave in a way that deserves exposing.

Decisions decisions

Here I am on my way to work and I see this hard to decline offer from someone I have talked to for a good 2 days.

So u/zimrastaman offered me $100 if I sleep with him. Guys I’m so confused. This is a hard one. A whole $100. 1-100 for poor little old me?🥺

Could I pass on this opportunity? How will I spend it all at once? Invest? Shopping? Maybe a new car.
Will come back with an update after I sleep with this random man from Reddit😊

Safety precautions

. I come here with this question for what feels like the millionth time, but what are you guys doing to stay safe if you live alone? Especially the ladies.
I just watched cctv footage three guys trying to rob a house. They were carrying slingshots, and after hearing the story of David and Goliath my whole life, I’ve come to the conclusion those things are basically ancient bullets. I’d actually love for them to demonstrate how they work like In the robbery … after they’re arrested, of course. But seriously, these guys are armed in their own way, they move in groups, and it’s honestly scary.

The last time I asked this, someone said I should keep a male contact on speed dial. I have u/Nyatsombemutotesi, so I’d probably be safer handling the situation myself. On a serious note though… ko vasina?
So far I’ve bought a taser. Out of curiosity I tested it on one of my other useless friends and all he said was, “ouch .” So now I’m wondering if I bought the Temu version because it doesn’t seem very convincing. What voltage are people actually buying? Then I bought pepper spray—even though it’s illegal but who’s going to report me? The attacker?
I also keep a little hunting knife in my handbag. I mostly use it during church camp, but it’s sharp enough. I just don’t feel like it’s enough.

Are there any proper self-defence classes in Harare that you’d actually recommend? Or am I overreacting? I’ve been robbed before and Im still traumatised

Harare rentals

How much are you all paying for rent these days? And what are you renting—a single room, a cottage, an apartment, or a full house? I genuinely feel like I’m being scammed with these prices.

That helping your mother in law story

I didn’t watch the full video I just answered the question that was posted. Is it his responsibility?

I said yes👀.

You people are mean neh? 🥲 How are you going to watch your partner s mother suffer and say “ooop🤷🏽‍♀️” not my mom😂.
Obviously if she has siblings and family no one is asking you to take over but if they don’t have are you going to just sit by and watch?

If your answer is yes… don’t be a husband. Some of yall are cruel and horrible partners. I thought this was a no brainer. You not even going to pretend😂 you really would just watch your wife s mother suffer because of common money. Money comes back. It’s so insignificant when it comes to life. Graves are full of rich people even oceans. I hope the situation isn’t reversed. I hope you won’t get upset when your parent gets sick and your wife decides to ignore that situation. She buys fun and fresh and mabanana and calls it a day.

Mandityisa.😂 let’s learn to be good people. Religious or not.. learn to be a good person ESPECIALLY to our partners.
