Gift card voucher scam - Monzo
I can believe I’m actually typing this as I never thought I would be a victim of a scam but here I’m. I’m someone who’s super careful about my money and would never go around giving money away like that, even to my boyfriend but I started a new job fairly recently. I got an email to my work address from the company chair asking me to buy some vouchers, and I naively bought so many, wanting to make a good impression. I read quite a few posts in here about people saying they would never fall for something like a scam and it’s annoying cos I always thought I would be someone who would have a much better judgment than that. Looking back on it there were SO many signs and I feel so naive.
This big vent is actually to ask whether Monzo will refund me the full amount of £900. I made the consider this as fraud and refund me the money. I made the payments in three separate transactions. Someone tricked me into making the payments, but I physically made them myself. Does anyone have any advice?
