Just need help before I cut 4 years of curls

Hello guys, this is my first ever solder, and I just can't seem to get it. The scroll wheel encoder works, but it decides to stop working after a couple of hours of usage + The encoder works again after I reheat the solder, but the same thing happens, sometimes it's instant, or sometimes it's 1 hour to die. Can someone point out what I'm doing wrong? I'd be really grateful. Also, the orange residue is solder wick that I gave up on removing 😭😭😭
