Got a call from a lady claiming to be Axis customer support. She casually asked how things were going with my credit card. For context, I have the Airtel Axis card and was planning to close it since I the card became trash and I had already gotten my last cashback a week ago.

She then told me that since I was a valuable customer, they could convert my card to LTF and even refund 40% of my previous annual fee. Sounded tempting enough to keep talking. ( I believed her till this )

Then she told me to raise a request on a site called nowcredit.in. I knew what was going on but I was curious to see what she had cooking for me so I opened it using a VPN and checked it on urlscan just to be safe. The website was well made and looked almost identical to the official Axis site.

She asked me to click a download link and install an APK called the same thing nowcredit. I obviously did not install it but I decided to play along for fun.

She kept asking me to log in with my customer ID and password. I kept telling her I already did. She said she could not see my login and asked me again and again. I told her maybe there is some technical glitch on her side.

After a few minutes she got irritated and said she would raise a complaint against me for misbehaving with axis bank and that I could be prosecuted.
I apologised and said sorry I was lying since my brother told me never to download any random app from net.

She explained that I get it but I am genuine from axis support and if I want I could get an email from axis bank explaining these steps there. I said I think I can trust you sorry for being skeptical. I said I will download and login and told her to call me after 10 minutes. She did and told me if I logged in or not. I did the same thing as before and she told me she has raised a complaint with bank and that police will be involved. At that point I was done.

I told her some sweet words about her family and about her. She cut the call and blocked me.

TL/DR - Got called by a sweet lady from Axis support from Meesho. She told me she will convert my airtel axis to LTF and give me refund too since Im a valuable member if I download an app. We talked, I said some sweet words to her then out of the blue she took back her offer 😢
