Need Advice on Sauna Placement in Narrow Courtyard

Just looking for some opinions/ideas on which way to orient a freestanding outdoor sauna in this space.

The area is a narrow side courtyard between the house and boundary wall, with roughly 3m wall-to-wall width. I’m planning on putting a ~2m square freestanding sauna in here and turning the whole area into a relaxing retreat with lighting, plants, maybe a plunge tub etc.

Main things I’m trying to decide:

Which direction should the sauna door face?

Better to have the glass/front facing toward the house or toward the back wall?

Should I maximise privacy or openness?

Any regrets from people with outdoor saunas regarding sun, wind, drainage or maintenance?

Would you leave walking space on both sides or hug one wall?

I’m in South Australia, so I’m also trying to think about summer heat, winter wind and afternoon sun.

Would love to see photos or hear what worked (or didn’t work) for your setup.
