Once again, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the enforced cancellation of the 2026 Ramify IRONMAN France Nice.
We understand the months of training, sacrifices, travel arrangements, and personal commitment that go into preparing for an IRONMAN event, and we share in your disappointment following the prefectural decision.
Over the past few days, we have worked tirelessly to explore every possible option to support affected athletes. Our priority has been to identify solutions that provide flexibility and, where possible, the opportunity to race this year should you want to.

We explored rescheduling the event to another date in 2026. Unfortunately, despite extensive efforts and discussions with local authorities and key stakeholders, we have not been able to identify a viable date that works for all parties.
To provide as much flexibility as possible, we are offering the following options:
Option 1: Transfer to Another 2026 IRONMAN Event
We have worked closely with teams across our event portfolio to create additional capacity specifically for athletes affected by the cancellation at a number of remaining 2026 IRONMAN events.
A full list of eligible events can be found in the form linked at the bottom of this email.
While we have worked to make as much space available as possible in remaining 2026 events, places remain limited, and transfers will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. We thank you for your understanding.
Option 2: Defer Your Entry to the 2027 Edition of Ramify IRONMAN France
Given the exceptional circumstances surrounding the 2026 event, we have worked closely with the City of Nice to secure an alternative date to mitigate the risk of heat affecting the event in future.
The 2027 editions of the IRONMAN 70.3 Nice and the Ramify IRONMAN France Nice will no longer take place on 4 July 2027 as previously announced. Instead, both events will now be held on 12 September 2027. 
You may choose to defer your 2026 entry to race in the 2027 edition of Ramify IRONMAN France.
Option 3: Full Refund
You may choose to receive a full refund of your registration fee.

 For all eligible athletes, please note that the French licence experience purchased for this event has already been refunded by the French Triathlon Federation. In addition, any extra purchases (medal engraving, Sportograf package & VIP packages) made with your original registration will be refunded once you have made your selection.
Please note that merchandise items that have already been shipped are not eligible for a refund. IRONMAN Experience packs are managed directly by Nirvana and are therefore not eligible for a refund through IRONMAN.

We are writing to share an important update regarding this weekend’s races in Nice.

Following a decision from the Alpes-Maritimes Prefecture, we regret to inform you that the Ramify IRONMAN France Nice and IRONMAN 70.3 Nice events scheduled for Sunday 28 June have been cancelled due to the rising temperatures across the region:
“The weather conditions, combined with the extension of the orange heatwave alert in the department and the context of a prolonged heatwave episode that has affected the national territory for the past ten days, have led us to cancel both the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events in Nice scheduled for Sunday, 28 June. This decision has been taken both to safeguard the health and safety of all participants (athletes, organisers, and the security and emergency personnel mobilised for the event) and to avoid placing any additional strain on emergency and healthcare services, which are already under significant pressure across the region.”, indicates the Prefecture.

We know how much preparation, commitment, and travel has gone into getting you to this start line, and we deeply understand the disappointment this news will bring. Please know that we share in this disappointment.

The safety and wellbeing of our athletes, volunteers, staff, and the wider community will always remain our top priority. We have been working in close coordination with the City of Nice and local authorities throughout this process and fully respect this decision.

IRONMAN and the City of Nice are now working collaboratively to determine next steps and appropriate solutions for all affected athletes, including the potential for a replacement race date. We will communicate further details with you as soon as they are confirmed.

The athlete village will remain open on Saturday, and athletes are welcome to still collect their event backpacks until Saturday 3pm.

In the meantime, we sincerely thank you for your understanding, your patience, and for being part of our global IRONMAN community.
