Looking for Self Employed Female Friends

Hi I just moved in Mannheim 9 months ago. I am currently looking for women friends who are self-employed. I am self employed and because I have flexible times, it is hard for me to find friends with the same interests and time availability because I don’t do normal 9-5 job. Maybe someone who can go to pilates with me in the morning or do morning walks or brunch on a weekday?

I speak English and have B1 German. Just moved in Germany but I lived in US before I moved here.

If you’re interested, comment or message request me 😊

Does it matter to you if your accountant or tax preparer is based outside the U.S.?

I’m curious to hear from U.S. business owners.
When hiring someone for bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or tax preparation, do you prefer that they are physically based in the U.S., or does their location not matter as long as they’re knowledgeable, responsive, secure with your data, and get the job done well?

A little context: I recently moved from the U.S. to Germany.

I’m a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and I’m planning to earn my Enrolled Agent (EA) for the IRS credential. My long-term goal is to build a virtual accounting and tax firm serving U.S. businesses remotely.

My biggest hesitation is whether U.S. clients would be reluctant to work with someone who is no longer living in the U.S., even though I would continue specializing in U.S. accounting and taxation.

Thanks in advance! I’m trying to understand how business owners actually think before investing a lot of time into building this.

Looking to connect with someone specializing in US–Germany taxation

Hi everyone,
I’m a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) who recently relocated to Mannheim, Germany. I’m currently working toward becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) and plan to specialize in U.S.–Germany cross-border taxation.

I’m looking to connect with someone in Mannheim who has experience with German tax law (Steuerberater, tax professional, or anyone working in the field). My idea is to exchange knowledge. We could discuss U.S. tax matters on my side, while you could share insights on the German side. I think it would be a great way for both of us to learn more about the complexities of cross-border tax issues for individuals and businesses.
If you’re interested in collaborating, exchanging ideas, or just chatting about U.S.–Germany taxation, feel free to comment or send me a DM!

Looking forward to connecting.

How Entrepreneurs are managing their bookkeeping in 2026

Hi everyone, I am a business owner and would like to ask your insights how business owners are managing their bookkeeping now.

I have heard a lot of news and read articles how AI is gonna impact the bookkeeping or Accounting business. But was wondering if that has actually affected the small businesses or is it only applicable for big Corporations and Businesss who have resources and budget?

Does bookkeeping still feel the same as before or how are you guys managing it as of the moment?

IRS Enrolled Agent in Germany

Hi guys, i recently moved from US to Germany. I am working remotely and deals with US clients in the field of Accounting. I am a US CMA as well. I am interested in US/German Taxes. I am currently learning German and already passed B1. I want to do B2 and C1 in the next couple months so I can do my Master of Laws in Taxation and Accounting since it is gonna need C1 German. It will take awhile for me to do that. I was thinking of taking an Enrolled Agent Exam first so I can already touch base with US taxes. But I don’t know about the market in Germany if the EA is in demand and how much is usually the salary as well for this and if it’s worth pursuing?

Is anybody here already in that Industry? And do you guys find it interesting and worth it like in terms of salary and work responsibilities?
