How to Clean a Mace (Parade in 12 Hours)

I have to be at my school in 12 hours for our 4th of July Parade. We had practice today, and by the end, I noticed that my mace rubbing against my shirt left a lot of dirt marks. I can't have this happen on my white uniform, especially for the parade. My mace is pretty old, and the paracord is really dirty, but the ends are wrapped so tightly that I cannot move it/unwrap it (my whole drum major team tried, and we all failed). Does anyone know how I can clean the paracord with it on the mace and without the risk of harming the mace/paracord? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Hand/Wrist Pain with Parade Mace

I have a lot of hobbies that tend to put strain on my wrist (writing, drawing, playing my main instrument). It was all fun and games until we were practicing our parade route for our 4th of July parade. Our drum major and field commanders carry parade maces, which we use to signal the beginning of marching, what song we are playing, and when to halt. It's a lot of wrist and elbow motions, as it's mostly waving the mace in a circular motion in the air. I started getting a lot of hand and wrist pain while we were practicing yesterday, and my wrist is pretty sore the next day. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to manage it?

Things in My Band Camp Survival Box

At my school, we got rid of hats as part of our uniforms, so they let everyone take a hat box if they wanted to. I'm planning on putting in a bunch of things that people may have forgotten, and I did a similar thing for band practices when I was on leadership last year.

  1. Sunscreen
  2. Extra plastic water bottles
  3. Light snacks (granola bars/fruit snacks)
  4. Pads/Tampons
  5. Hair ties
  6. Pencils

Let me know what else I should add.

I think I want to quit Cross Country

I've been running my whole life. I started running cross country when I was in second grade, and I've ran track and cross country ever since then. My sophomore year, I had an SI joint injury that took me out of my last race of cross country season, and an Achilles tendon injury took me out of indoor track and the first half of track season. My SI joint pain came back about a week ago, and I've been in pain while running and doing daily activities. Also, I've had a lot of issues with my teammates, resulting in half the team hating me and the other half not giving much support. My coach has been no help, and I've been really frustrated. I could barely get myself up yesterday morning to go to practice, and it feels like a crazy chore to get my runs in. I've been completely dreading summer practice and cross country season. My parents are both runners, and they've never let me quit in the past, but this situation is getting out of hand. I don't want to face my coach, and I don't want to quit, but I don't think I can handle this anymore. What do I do?

EDIT: I don't want to go into too much detail about the team environment, but I've been excluded from a lot of team bonding opportunities. There were people that came up with crazy accusations about me, and the coach didn't do much to stop it once people told him. Honestly, I've loved cross country and being active, but the environment isn't what it was when I joined two years ago.

Medical Retirement?

My (modern) fantasy-war series begins with a chaotic battle that leaves a lot of the characters badly wounded. Character A has a traumatic amputation above the knee with facial scarring. Character B is blinded in her left eye and has an amputation above the elbow. Character C is severely burned by a blast, which results in temporary mobility issues in his arm and shoulder, and he also has a spinal fracture that does not result in spinal cord damage. All three of these characters make as full recoveries as they can, with Characters A and B using prosthetics and Character C recovering from mobility loss from the burns. Their injuries occur about eighteen years before the main events of the series, and it is essential to the series that these characters partake in combat. Would these characters be forced to medically retire with the injuries they obtained?

Pins about Joining a Group Chat for Minors (Can these be reported?)

Recently, I've seen a lot of pins along the lines of, "Save this pin to be added to a group chat with girls 10-15!" and the comment sections are flooded with younger children sharing ages and pictures of themselves. This could be a huge safety issue, as these kids obviously don't know the person behind the pin, and god forbid they're joining chats with creepy adults. I've tried to report these pins to Pinterest, but they don't seem to fall under the reporting categories. Is there any way to report these, and will Pinterest actually do anything about it?

Here are some examples of the text in the posts:
