Dealership quoted me $2,200 to replace a water pump on my 2019 Camry. Independent shop quoted $480. Is the dealership quote insane or am I missing something?

took my car in for a routine oil change at the Toyota dealership last week. they came back with a list of recommended services and at the top was water pump replacement. quoted $2,200 parts and labor. said it was showing early signs of wear and better to do it now before it fails

i didn't say yes on the spot. drove it home and called an independent shop i've used before. they quoted $480 for the same job. same OEM part, same labor description

that's a $1,720 difference on one repair. i understand dealerships charge more but this feels like a completely different planet

few questions for people who actually know this stuff:

first, does a 2019 Camry with 67k miles even need a water pump replacement or is this the classic "we found something while you were in for an oil change" move

second, is a $480 quote from an independent shop actually reasonable or is that suspiciously low in a way i should be worried about

third, is there any legitimate reason the dealership quote is that high or is this just what they do

i'm not a car person at all which i'm sure they can tell. would really appreciate some straight answers before i make a decision
