I was just accepted for the RA position today, and I am super happy since I struggle with affording USC, and this would help my family tremendously. However, I have also already committed to an SA position for my old professor, and I'm not quite sure what to do. In the contract, it says RAs have mandatory meetings on Wednesdays from 7:30–9:30 p.m., and the professor's class is from 7:00–9:00 p.m.

I absolutely loved his class and even asked for the position myself after being put on the waitlist for the RA position and losing hope I would get off it (ik I should've just removed myself from it). I don't want to tarnish our relationship by suddenly dropping the position and forcing him to look for a new SA.

Should I just give up the RA opportunity? I will also have an internship on top of my classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I'm not sure how that will affect the position. I'm aware there's an exceptions form for the mandatory dates/events that come with the RA position, but is there any chance that if I submit one, it will be accepted?
