Summer is calling… and this week, we’re answering with fragrance.
Think marine freshness, salty ocean air, coconut, and bright citrus—scents that instantly transport you to the beach, whether you’re actually there or just wishing you were.
Let the Holidays continue. This week is centered more around the harvest and gathering of us all.
Let’s see your Tobacco, Leather, Oud, and Honey Fragrances!
What has your favorite and least favorite theme so far? Let us know in your comment.
Also, what themes would you like to see in the next couple of months?
Moving forward SOTD must have the specific note as a major accord. Sir, for example, if it’s not listed/shown in the 6 notes on the summary page of the fragrantica image then it’s not a major note.
Starting Monday it’s Christmas in July! 🎄
We’re heading to the tropics next week. Let’s see you pineapple or mango fragrances.
Stopped by Bond No.9’s boutique in NYC today and I must say I was blown away. This store ambiance was top notch and the staff was friendly and approachable. Once in the store they were there to learn about your taste, history with the brand and fragrance and help make selections that you might enjoy and others that may step you out of your comfort zone. If you are ever in NYC you must stop by this boutique.
Needless to say, we left with bottles and a bagful of samples.
July 1-4 the theme is American Fragrance houses. If you have bottles that are colored Red, white, blue, or a star design even cooler. Think Argos, Bond No.9, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, etc.
So results are in and while it was a great battle Vibrator was the clear winner.
Thanks to everyone who voted.
Back by popular demand (or at least a lot of varying opinions). Round 2 of the “Best Ginger Fragrance.”
Cast you vote, Poll will run all weekend.
So I’ve been training and competing for about 2 years now and I am really struggling with recovery lately. I don’t feel it in my lifts but in water retention/weight. After any leg or back workout my weight will jump 3-5 lbs the next day and won’t clear for 3-5 days. In a growth phase I can deal with this but during prep it seems to stall my progress.
I’m 49yo enhanced male just trying to get over this hump.
Any athletes out there find a good solution?
Aficionados…. This week (actually between June 22 running to June 30), the theme is completely open. Wear what you would like. Time to see some of the fragrances that may not fit any theme. Should be crazy and fun.
For July 1-4 the theme is American Fragrance houses. But…bottles must be colored Red, white, blue, or a star design. Think Argos, Bond No.9, Ralph Lauren, etc.
To clear up any confusion with what constitutes a “Blue” or a “Green” fragrance we are providing some definitions below. Your chosen SOTD just needs to hit one of these notes as the Primary note (not all of them). This should be an easy week with lots of variety.
Green notes mimic raw, crisp, and vegetal elements found in nature:
Foliage: Violet leaf, ivy, tomato leaf, and fig leaf.
Herbs & Grass: Freshly cut grass (cis-3-hexenol), mint, basil, and rosemary.
Resins: Galbanum (sharp and bitter) and mastic.
Woods & Earth: Vetiver, oakmoss, pine, and cypress.
Tart Fruits: Green apple and blackcurrant bud.
Blue notes blend clean, synthetic freshness with rich, masculine foundations:
Citrus Top Notes: Bergamot, grapefruit, and mandarin.
Marine & Aquatic: Calone (sea salt/ocean air) and ozonic notes.
Clean Synthetics: Ambroxan (adds a metallic, soapy, skin-like warmth).
Sharp Herbs: Mint, lavender, and rosemary.
Warm Bases: Cedarwood, vetiver, incense, and patchouli.
Next weeks theme will be broader and continues to fit the warmer weather. Line up your favorite green or blue scents and let’s see what you’ve got.
Come one, come all. This weeks theme is designer freshies (if you choose to participate). Let’s see what your designer style is.
