Didn't this news report totally expose Tokugawa's underground fighting ring?

Didn't this news report totally expose Tokugawa's underground fighting ring?

So im still reading through this manga right. Im looking at this here panel and im gosh darn confused

Whether or not they know it's a fighting ring is one thing, but if the media knows what took place in the sixth basement floor of tokyo dome when everyone was supposed to think there were only two basement floors, doesn't this open up a whole host of problems for Tokugawa? Why would they even let word get out about this? They provided photos of Pickle in the ring there, so which dumbass thought it was a good idea to take those pictures and say "here you go mr. news outlet, please cause a scandal so we have to defend our actions instead of doing whatever the hell we want. Also here's a place where we do lots of other illegal stuff"

The reporter sexual assault scandal made sense because that happened in public, there's no covering that shit up (and they shouldn't anyway because jesus crispies man what the fuck was that,) but like. I suppose you could argue that since there were only 500-ish siberian tigers in the world someone would notice one was missing, but they listed a weight and size range for them in the news report and that goliath-ass protein shake kitty cat they fed to Pickle was WAY outside that range, meaning they didn't even know this fucker existed until it got snopped by the creationist science cave man

They could have just not snitched on themselves, but here we are apparently doing everything we can to get Pickle canceled. Is Pickle going to do one of those apology videos now or is he just going to keep posting like nothing is wrong. Is this it for him or will he lose no followers despite all the takedown videos exposing his private dms?

god baki is such an intellectually stimulating manga with great social commentary im glad im asking questions about it here instead of reading real books or going to school

How can one man be filled with this much crap

I've been enjoying all the made up history in this so far, I've known the whole martial arts supremacy thing has been totally made up but I think the way Itagaki rewrites history to hype the shit out of it is part of the insanity that makes this series so fun to read. It's like getting transported to another version of Earth where you gotta relearn everything all over again. Don't even need history class, you can just learn by watching someone get punched in the face. It makes me hard.

But this series has talked about Pankration in ancient Greece, a sport that combined boxing and wrestling, a LOT. And now Shibukawa is over here saying boxing has only been around...for one century? Does this series take place in 588 B.C.? Is greece 100 years old. Is muhammad ali greek

Even modern boxing matches in English speaking countries trace back over 300 years; 100 years ago is just when the gloves were introduced. The rules didn't change apart from that. Punch hard, don't kick. ez. fucking hurts

Adding history to a fighting style to make it stronger is cool. Erasing history from another fighting style to make it weaker in comparison is lame. Debuffs are lame (not cool).

If itagaki should study any fighting style it should be genjitsu (this is a really funny joke laugh at it) because if boxing is going to lose it shouldn't be because there's a strawman in the ring. glaze your donut, yeah, but dont throw away their donut. that's wasteful don't do that come on man

Reading through the tournament arc right now, and I've noticed several times that they have the worst refs of all time. So many times fighters are on the ground getting beaten over and over and over mercilessly and the refs don't say anything about it, but then someone will get knocked on the ground ONCE and with no hesitation they will call the match over right then and there.

One time they did the opposite too, in the ONE situation where they shouldn't have; despite Baki being KNOWN for getting back up after being whaled on repeatedly on the ground, they called the match with Zulu the MOMENT he started getting beaten in that way. I don't know if I was supposed to read something else from that scene, but Baki's face showed no hint of being anywhere close to defeat as he was getting it. They basically said he lost on account of getting a papercut while being caught off-guard. Imagine throwing your most popular fighter out of the tournament before it's even halfway done because they DIDN'T lose a fight. Honestly even more insane than schizo training and the logic behind the mach punch combined.

This is my first time reading through Baki and somehow this is the first time I've had to stop and actually ask a question about the nonsense. So far I've been able to wrap my head around everything, but I don't get this one. How did shinogi keep a normal stance and move around on both feet like nothing was wrong after getting one of his knees inverted? This is the first time someone's gotten a broken bone and it just isn't brought up again nor factored into the rest of the fight. It's like it happened, but then suddenly it never happened. Like a mortal kombat game where it will show you busting the shit out of someone's skeleton and it just magically heals back together so you can break it again the moment they get back up.

Even if the way the fighters have been dealing with broken bones has been wildly unrealistic up to this point, it's at least acknowledged that it happened. Did Itagaki forget about this one immediately after drawing it or am I missing something here?
