Rotational Womping Noise from Passenger Side
Had this with our (trusted) mechanic twice but stumped on what's causing this noise and wear on a 2015 Jeep Renegade.
- Noise happens primarily at slow speeds without gas or brake applied and seems to originate from front passenger side
- Doesn't seem to pull the car in any direction or impact braking/brake feel but does feel like 'drag'?
- Worse when dry and warm - in the rain sometime imperceptible
- initially seized caliper replaced and pins regreased etc
- after this noticed disc wear only on the outer edge of the disc and noise continued to happen
- replaced a suspected warped disc
- wear pattern present on new disc and noise persists
Apparently bearing has no play and there was nothing obviously worn causing this issue. Advice given was to drive this with some caution to see if wearing in pad/disc improves symptoms and to stop if there was any change in steering or brake behavior/feel.
Looking for any experience with similar to help discussion once we bring the car for another look.
