Twisted Metal new game concept

I recall Jaffe saying Twisted Metal is like Mortal Kombat with cars, and I just had a concept come to mind. Warning: I'm currently high, so this is not likely to be a novel concept.

The game starts with a standard roster, potentially with unlockable cars. Each car has its own driver, backstory.

The game has 3 modes. Story, Multiplayer, Online.

Each driver's Story has an ending.

Each car (and potentially driver?) has unlockable skins (perhaps through milestones in Story and/or achievement-based) which include previous incarnations of each car.

Then have DLC packages of "guest" drivers and cars. Think Batman, Elvira, or whatever else. The guest cars would likely have reused stats from the original roster, but an original Special Weapon. They also get their own ending in the Story.

There could be as many arenas as they can make, including maps that would be in said-DLC packages.

The only thing that bothers me about the idea is that, more than likely, microtransactions would make their way into this...which sucks, but I dunno. Does this sound dumb?

I Struggle to Homebrew for 5e (or 5.5e, for that matter)...

I'm sure this is just because I'm inexperienced, BUT I struggle tremendously trying to figure out how to homebrew Monsters and Magic Items for these latest generations of Dungeons & Dragons. Mechanically speaking, unless I've missed something, we aren't given much besides "look at what was already made and just reskin it". If that is the only way to do it...I personally don't like it.

I just want a solid, balanced guide that can help us create more for our own settings. Does anyone else feel this way or am I just whining into the void?

First pic, Dragon Ball Xenoverse Hero: Tundra

He is the elder of two brothers, the younger being Polarus. The pair were part of a rebellious faction against Frieza's empire, doing their level best to gather survivors to try and train up to fight against the wicked emperor. Unfortunately, their plans were dashed when one of Frieza's scouts found them and sent out coordinates before he could be killed. Tundra ordered the survivors to pick up and flee. He demanded his younger brother to do the same, but Polarus refused. Tundra didn't like this, as he knew Polarus was weaker than him, but didn't force him away. By the time their faction escaped, the Ginyu Force arrived, cocky as ever and eager to destroy the rebels' leaders. The fight was brutal, with the four underlings almost toying with the brothers until they could no longer stand. Finally, the Captain approached Tundra to execute him, but just as the blast would have struck, he was whisked away by the Eternal Dragon in the Toki Toki world. Though he would join the Time Patrol, his thoughts always lingered on the grisly fate that his younger sibling endured.

He grew stronger as he went on missions, having to use a limiter for the earlier missions. The limiter was enough to drastically boost his gains and before long, he was stunned to find he was now more than a match for Frieza. And on the story goes, with Tundra testing the idea that once everything was over, he could use the Dragon Balls to wish his brother to the Toki Toki world in the same manner that he was, an idea that didn't sit well at first with the Supreme Kai of Time, but she assured him she'd give it some thought.

2, 3, & 4 pics, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Hero Team: Polarus, Lotus, & Alaka

After the events of XV1, the Supreme Kai of Time relented and allowed for Polarus to be wished to the Toki Toki world from the moment he would've been killed by the Ginyus. He would train among other Time Patrollers, but he was most happy to find his elder brother still alive and more powerful than ever! He had always admired Tundra's strength, as Polarus was more on the intellectual side of things. When he starts going on 'special missions', however, he is introduced to two others to form a team.

Lotus, a Saiyan, had been pulled from a time before Planet Vegeta's destruction. She was a fierce and scrappy warrior who had often been underestimated by her male counterparts. She had always hated being considered a Low-Class Saiyan and always worked hard to try and rise above her station, only to be smacked down by the Upper Classes and belittled. She has a newfound sense of freedom in the Time Patrol, though she still feels she's underutilized and underestimated.

Alaka, a Majin, is something of a mystery. She was fairly taciturn, but one heck of a heavy-hitter when she needed to be. That wasn't to say she was ever mean-spirited or arrogant, as she always maintained an air of curiosity about the world around her. She would often examine things or people she didn't understand with wide-eyed curiosity, always gentle until she was certain whatever she touched wasn't going to break easily. She doesn't speak much unless she's comfortable with those around her, but even then she tends to remain quiet.

As the XV2 story progresses, Polarus ends up surpassing his brother in power, becoming the first between them to achieve Golden form, Lotus achieves Super Saiyan 4, and Alaka has an arc where she achieves Purification, but has to resist turning into another Kid Buu. Polarus comes into his own as both strategist and warrior, Lotus and Alaka become lovers, all three learn to utilize their strengths and cover each other's weaknesses as they face trial after trial.
