Hi,
I’m 9 months post op. I had decompression and a subcutaneous transposition surgery on my right arm. Unfortunately my symptoms haven’t improved and now my nerve is subluxing with certain movements. Simply bending the elbow doesn’t cause this but when there is any degree of stretch on tension on the nerve and I bend I can feel and see it snap over the medial epicondyle. Also when I’m in this position and I lock out my elbow I can feel the nerve move the other way (back towards the cubital tunnel) and then when I bend after that the snap is more pronounced. I asked my surgeon about it and they said it’s nothing to worry about and is because the nerve is more mobile in this position and it won’t cause any damage. However, it’s really frustrating as I didn’t have this prior to surgery and it’s annoying I have to avoid certain movements to stop it from happening. Although i’ve been assured it isn’t causing damage, it’s still super unpleasant, especially when it snaps quite aggressively due to a lot of tension/stretch.
Sorry I’m ranting a bit, I just wanted to ask whether anyone who’s had a subcutaneous transposition has experienced subluxation when there is tension on the nerve and whether it’s normal or not. Any help is much appreciated, thanks
