I’m finishing out my third year of undergrad and I really want to start applying to masters programs in the coming year for paleoanthropology and bioarcheology but I have done absolutely nothing. I started in person 4 year university but I had a really hard time finding ways to get involved that year so I just worked and said I would figure it out but I was miserable at that school so I spent the next year online and I just transferred this past fall but now I’m commuting like an hour and if I’m not at work I am in a lecture or driving home. I’ve been getting serious about starting to plan and work on my applications but I realized I have absolutely nothing to put on them. I haven’t worked in any lab I haven’t had any internships I can’t afford to go on any field schools over the summer (because I’m married to a military member and he’s getting deployed and I have a lot of pets). The extent of my college experience is purely just going to classes. I haven’t even joined a club. I am extremely passionate about my topics but I have spent the last three years letting life get in my way I haven’t even managed to make a single friend in college. I’m just at a loss for what I can do or even say to somehow make this better. Should I take a year off from applying straight out of undergrad to improve my standing to get into any grad program
