Periods on the quarter system

Whenever I get my period I’m out of commission for the whole week. And that’s 10% of my grades at stake🫩🫩🫩 “Ooohhh just take midol or aleve” like I don’t need to magically divine 2 hours before the cramps start otherwise oops it’s too late and they’re going to happen anyway! I’m so sick of this. And of course it’s always right before finals or midterms! None of my medicines work anymore and the health center never picks up my calls. I hate this so much. Or maybe my PMS is just making me more angry than usual, lmao. 👊💢 I guess I should just be happy that it’s not finals week yet.

Do you report cheating?

I just finished taking my midterm early and I noticed how the girl sitting next to me literally had her phone on her lap searching up the answers on chatgpt. And I'm just like bruh okay

Would you guys report this?

Frats respecting Muslim students

To the members of Pi Kappa Alpha at UCSD, its good that you guys left to the Loft from Dirty Birds after accidentally yelling during the Community Vigil at Geisel for the Muslim Student Association. But having some members yelling out "Nah fuck that" while being guided by the other members to go really wasn't cool.

I love how small my world becomes while studying

Small, narrow, dissatisfactory life. Like a horse with blinders on but in the worst way imaginable. Depressing, sad, colorless life. And there is no end to this at least for a few weeks straight. And then, for a few more years. The same scam and lie I’ve been sold my entire life. Oh, just a little bit longer. And before I know it, a third to fourth of my entire life has passed and we’re still here.

Anyway, depressing poetic phrases aside, how do people study? I feel so upset and incompetent (like there’s something deeply deeply wrong with me) everytime I see someone studying and managing to do so effortlessly.

Can I Survive Taking Upper Division Classes as Freshman

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming freshman student at ucsd in the fall and long story short I took a fuck ton of community college classes and AP/IB’s in high school. Because of this, I’m done with all of GEs and my LD classes for my major (Psych BA in 8th college) so I’m aiming to start my fall semester with my upper divs and graduate in two years with a minor in law and society. I’ve gotten an A in almost every class I’ve taken (4.0 at cc and 3.95 in hs) but I’m a little bit scared about going straight into upper division classes. Ik that psych is generally considered an easy major but I was wondering if anyone had any insight on which professors to take classes with and whatnot and the general difficulty of the classes or smth along those lines? I really want to keep my gpa up for law school and I don’t know if I should start like preparing this summer or smth lol just in case. Sorry if this comes off badly I didnt know how to word half the shit I wanted to say 😓

Why aren't trolls like KamalaHarris banned from this sub?

All they do is create fake scenarios, troll people, lie, deceit, and push people to edge. I get the idea of being edgy when you're 18 and anonymity makes you feel like a God, but at what cost? Just this morning, they were bullying a high school kid for getting a bad grade and scaring them into thinking that their offer will be cancelled.

I know a lot of people get entertainment from these posts but we literally have a world of content creators and other social media platforms to brainrot!!

Group presentation stressing me out

Bruh. I am in a group with somewhat studious, seemingly dedicated people. And yet, no one talks or communicates or responds to messages or anything. No vague timeline yet and we’re so close to the deadline. This shit is stressing me out so much. My micromanaging stressed and control freak self is going to die of a heart attack trying to coordinate the details of this. And I’ll still get nothing done. Why are people like this? Literal fully grown adults and they can’t even do the most basic shit even after 10 reminders? My issue isn’t even that. My issue is that they don’t even communicate or say that maybe they haven’t completed or want more time or wtv???
I’ve had this exact same experience in clubs too. And I’ve seen teachers and TAs experience the exact same thing in pretty much every class. There has to be some fucking psychological theory that explains this. cause I’ve seen it so much outside of ucsd too. It’s everywhere.

Will a D in AP Calc AB get me rescinded from UCSD? How do I report it?

Hey everyone, I’m kinda freaking out right now and wanted to ask if anyone has been in a similar situation.

I was admitted for Fall 2026, but I currently have a 65% in AP Calc AB, which is a D at my school. I honestly don’t think I can get it up anymore because I bombed a few major exams and my teacher doesn’t allow retakes. Every other classes are fine, but calc has completely destroyed me this semester. I did get a B last semster.

I know the UC conditions say no grades below a C senior year, so I’m scared this could get my admission rescinded. I’m planning to report it ASAP instead of hiding it, but I have no idea how the process works or where do I even report it.

Has anyone here gotten a D senior year and still kept their admission to UCSD or another UC?

Off campus aid, can I turn down loans?

I have an SAI of -1500 and am moving off campus next year. I know that aid covers housing for most people in my situation, but I’m wondering how doable it is to refuse the government loans they offer. My job can cover the rent so I really don’t want to take out more loans if I don’t have to. Has anyone done this? I’m scared that financial aid will take away my grants because they’re evil 😭
