Like what are we supposed to do. Not use our little box fan? They genuinely want us to just die I guess. Because they don’t even give any of us AC, what the hell are we supposed to try to conserve. it’s genuinely so insensitive, idiotic, and just hypocrisy. they ppl who wrote us these emails are sitting in an air conditioned room telling US to conserve energy when we’re sitting in a concrete box that’s 97 ℉ with no AC AND THEYRE STILL ASKING US TO CONSERVE ENERGY. IM SWEATING JUST SITTING HERE AND YOU WANT ME TO TURN MY FAN OFF. FU*% YOU FOR NOT GIVING US AC.

RUN YOUR FANS, take your cold showers, do what you need to do to keep comfortable and well! your wellbeing comes first. If we pass out from heat stroke in here that’s a bigger problem on UCSD’s minds.

Countless times I’ve witnessed these summer bridge/high schoolers with the lanyards disrespect our campus and students/staff to the point where I need to say something.

TLDR: shoplifting, breaking into unauthorized areas, setting off alarms, mean to dining and bookstore staff, leaving target a mess, being loud in library, not cleaning up after themselves, forcing other ppl off the sidewalk, etc.

1. Just today there was a summer bridge student, Asian girl w/ straight brown hair, mustard yellow tank top, blue lanyard, mom jeans, who broke into an unauthorized area in the library and when confronted by staff instead of communicating she RAN OUT setting off an alarm disrupting EVERYONE in 2E. She then proceeded to hide there and seemingly brag to her friends about what she did on the phone smiling and laughing.
2. STOP WALKING IN A HORIZONTAL LINE OF 15 PPL. It’s not high school anymore so stop trying to clog up the sidewalk with your little group. It’s rude and I’ve seen you guys force ppl off the sidewalks so you can keep your stupid little formation.
3. Be respectful in the library. Every day they come in large groups, loud and disruptive messing around
4. Also a friend of mine at target told me they are leaving our target a MESS. Messy shelves, not putting things back, clogging up aisles chatting/hanging out making it hard for shoppers and workers. EDIT: an employee commented confirmed they are apparently SHOPLIFTING too
5. They often aren’t cleaning up after themselves at the dining halls
6. addition I’ve seen countless of them with their heads in their phones and earbuds in walking or even stopping in the bike lanes. Get tf off your phone and pay attention, dam. You’re putting yourself and others in a dangerous situation.

EDIT: ppl in comments said some girls were being mean to the workers at dinning hall and bookstore 🙃

I bet our admissions committee would feel such shame seeing students they admitted acting so ungrateful, rude, entitled.

Some advice: don’t forget that just bc it’s summer for you doesn’t mean it’s summer for eveyone else. Your future professors are on campus, your future TA’s, PI’s, etc are watching your behavior. Stop acting entitled.

Ik it’s silly bc I’m a grown adult but I’m literally sitting here crying at my desk in frustration, I’m beyond pissed and stressed. I’ve been on the site and it keeps crashing I’m on my laptop and iPad and iPhone and nothing worked. I’m a senior human bio major who couldn’t get any of my classes, not even a single major class. I’m trying to sign up for some random bullshT like management and communications and that won’t even work . I give up. There’s no point. I have a summer session final in a couple hours and I literally can’t handle this rn.

Are other neurodivergents struggling to figure this stuff out? Or am I just slow. I finally learned webreg and now I need to learn a new system. I feel lost and confused with everything. I’m not very good at learning new systems (I’m just slow) and I tend to shutdown. I just leaned I needed to submit a TEA request. Ik I get overwhelmed easily that’s just a trait of mine but ugh. This is exhausting.

Yooo, has anyone else been kicked off the Wi-Fi lately like it keeps sending me a message about a certification?? I haven’t been able to use the Wi-Fi. I thought it was maybe due because of like the new system, like maybe I had to redeem my password or something I have no clue. Anyone have any thoughts or have the same issue? I’ve been using my data for the past couple days so annoying.

Ik I’ll get so much hate for calling them out about this but, but stop comparing yourself to WeChat cheaters. These people literally pay for answers, pass around answer keys and gatekeep to themselves. We all know they exist. So no, you’re not dumb, you’re not slow. You’re doing your best and actually trying to learn. They might get away with it for now, but it will catch up when they’re incompetent at their jobs. Gosh forbid the rest of us were so naive…

I wish there was a 24 hour coffee shop on campus. Especially now that it’s finals I’m really real realizing how nice that would be because the stupid costa coffee machine in Geisel always scams me. I’ll pay like five bucks for a drink and it gives me ice water. It would also be nice if there were smoothies as well so you can maybe get something healthy at odd hours. I know the coffee shops on campus close at 11 but like I said, I think it’d be nice if there were something that was 24 hours.

Did anyone call the police on the obnoxious hoard of bums screaming in Gilman parking lot. It finally got quiet… we need to start doing so more often. Go find a secluded area away from dorms if you wanna act obnoxious this late during midterms. And we do not gaf about your stupid modded cars so stop revving them on your way out thanks.
