My poor little kittens...
I'm still 24, but being a solo mom by choice was always my plan A since I was a teen. I also know spending lots of time with kiddo would be super important for me so I built my career around it.
I live in Brazil and we have public careers, which means you can't be fired if you haven't messed up big time, like committing a serious crime or something. These profissionals have stability and unlimited sick days forever so this is very beneficial for families, specially SMBCs. A couple years ago I got one of these spots but the government has up to four years to employ you. So I'm waiting, while currently working a normal job.
I've got a room empty to build a nursery, the baby names picked out, my fertility exams in check, some baby stuff bought. Just waiting for my 2.5-hours-Monday-to-Friday job. I've been ready for so long, but I still need that to start and, sometimes, it makes me so anxious and sad. Specially now that my Sister-in-law is pregnant. Any other future SMBCs just waiting it out? How do you girlies do it?
