I'm sure this question gets thrown around a lot so I am sorry for this but I could do with some help with aiming.

As far as I know, using the nail crosshair, it should be positioned like so according to the wiki:
0-20m: bottom of the nail around knee height
50m: Bottom of nail around the waist or torso
100m: nail at the head or above

I seem to be getting mixed results following this rule, I usually play riflemen but recently started playing guard, I know about the remove bayonette buff and line buffs, but even using a rifle I notice most of the time, despite calibrating my aim according to the crosshair rule of thumb, the majority of my shots just miss, sometimes they hit but most of the time they don't

I heard something about lateral spread but I don't know much about it, I have noticed however, a target (not moving) will be dead in my sights and my shot will land far to the side of the target

Also, how far do we need to lead moving targets? again getting mixed results, I understand the further the target the move you need to lead, but again using rule of thumb, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, does not seem consistent, am I doing anything wrong or is it just luck of the draw?
