Bike Mount Options

Has anyone used the suction style bike mounts? I don’t have a tow hitch and I think it might be my only option, but they scare me.

Kobo Clara Colour Upgraded

I was really bummed the Clara Colour lacked wireless charging after seeing the newer Kindles have it, so I improvised.

It was a pain in the butt, but it turned out pretty well. Probably going to stick a MagSafe ring to the back so it's easy to line up when charging.

I also setup a Grimmory server at home to store and sync my side loaded books wirelessly so I don't need to plug the Kobo into my MacBook anymore. If you haven't looked into Grimmory yet, do. It's awesome.

I went back and fourth MANY times over the last two months on which reader I liked the best and boiled it down to this:

Kindle Colorsoft Signature: Great screen, wireless charging is a plus. Terrible UI, and Amazon is the devil. Kindle is out.

Kobo Libra Colour: Great Screen (not quite as good as the Kindle Colorsoft Signature) and snappy interface. Love the UI. Device is a weird shape. If the buttons were on the bottom instead of the side I think I would have picked the Libra Colour, but this form factor feels too bulky to me, and I never use the stylus.

Kobo Clara Colour: Also love the UI (same as Libra Colour), but it doesn't feel as snappy as the Libra Colour. I can't get over how perfect the size feels to me. Portable, and easy to hold one handed. This made up for it being marginally less snappy.

Long story short, the best device is the one you'll use and the Kobo Clara Colour is so near perfect for me that I really couldn't see myself using the other two options.

There are a few tweaks and features I'd LOVE to see in the next generation of Kobo readers. Built in wireless charging, better screens, auto-brightness, snappier interface, etc... but while I wait to see what the next round of Kobo devices has in store for us, I'll be loving my Kobo Clara Colour.

*side note: I am fully aware high speed wireless charging may result in lower battery health, but I am not worried about it. This reader will trickle charge wirelessly overnight once every 2-4 weeks, if that, so... not really a concern.

Kobo Purchased ebook. Missing emojis.

I’m reading Margo’s Got Money Troubles before I watch the show and I noticed that sometimes there are boxes I place of writing. I opened the book on my iPad in the Kobo app and realized these are emojis. These aren’t rendering at all on the Libra Colour and I purchased the book directly from the Kobo store. I’d really like to avoid having to download and install additional fonts (if that would even help) since the book came directly from Kobo. I’m just at the end of my return window and I’m thinking about returning it and just using my iPad. I’d hate to keep running into issues like this on future books.

Power Outage/EV Reverse Flow Question

If I have my house being powered by my EV during an outage, will the EcoFlow Ocean inverter charge my car when the sun comes back out, or will I need to disconnect it and plug it back into a charger?
