Housing + crafting question

Lotro friends,

This game continues to be so incredible. My buddies and I are having a blast.

We recently got our homes in Bree and I had a question regarding trying to craft at the house. We’re fairly big crafters, so I am heavily considering getting the work stations (oven, forge, farmland) at my house because my buddies are neighbors and they can use the stations too at my place.

But then I had the thought, almost all crafts require you to get ingredients from the specialized vendor, not just a supplier. I know I can get a Supplier at the house, but is there something to get a Metalsmith, Weaponsmith, Cook, Farmer etc, who sell the specialized stuff? I realize i haven’t stumbled upon that in my research.
And if not, does that sort of remove the joys of crafting at home?

Thanks much to those with some experience in this department!

What is the second swing missing?

I am 8 months into golf. I developed a very “careful” swing by just controlling where my arms go, and realized it is not very arm-led or whatever you’d call it. So I decided to attempt to replicate what I hear others say; hips should lead the swing and rotate a lot certainly forward.

Then I tried to also kind of let lag(?) happen with my wrists n such? Idk if that’s what it’s called.

Also unsure if this angle is ideal but I noticed my weird swing from front-on so I shot the video front-on.

I do not care if I am absolutely perfect in every way; I’m not trying to be Rory out here (or more height-appropriate: Tony Finau). I just want to improve and develop a repeatable swing that has decent fundamentals.

What is the second swing missing?

Thank you all in advance!!

Experimentation : Score-Focused Ratio

Hey golf tips,

Question. I am 9 months into golfing. I have a tournament with some friends in September and I want to do my best for that tournament.
I’m not expecting to become a legend by then. I expect to be the worst there honestly haha, but I’m fine with that.

As that day approaches, should I be honing the game I know I can play now, ie prioritizing accuracy (not bombs) with driver, laying it up ~30 yards to guarantee getting back onto the fairway, putting onto the green every time it feels remotely appropriate…

Or is it smart to fail over and over again with the “real” way to play? In contrast to the above: trying to bomb drives and playing my slice by aiming left.. or threading it through the trees from the other fairway when I land there… or trying to wedge out of these super tight fairway lies which are much harder for me to get under tight grass than thicker grass with a wedge (this must be common)

I understand it’s not smart to be a “hero”, and I could not care less about how I LOOK.. if I could land it 3’ with a putter from 100 yards out I’d do it every time..

but what I’m a bit confused on is how to approach being safe vs being willing to fail in honor of learning the more rewarding plays.

I only have 1 golf outing a week, including the range. So should I play all courses super safe and then spend 100% of my range sessions experimenting hard? Or do I spend range times improving on what I’m currently comfortable with and embrace that I’ll never be a Wedge Wizard™️ until I can get out 4 times a week?

At the moment I have been trying to wedge, and sacrificing my score, in the name of trying to get better.

A bit of a vague question and prob been asked 100 dif ways so here’s the 101st. Just curious what people’s approaches are / have been. And I want to be clear this is not an insecure post, but a strategic one. Trying to make sure my game is always intentional, even though I am a weekend golfer.

TL;DR: if you’re legitimately not concerned about looking cool, when in your career do you try to learn how to play wedges vs just putting up to the green?

Threat question

My brother and I are leveling together and loving it!! He plays red Guardian and I play blue Captain.

Blue Captain obviously heals and has an in-combat revive. I can’t revive myself with that skill, obviously, and at this level I cannot use one of my big heals on myself. So it’s advantageous for my guardian brother to be the target.

It seems so far though, that I always generate more threat, probably because I’m healing both of us with abilities?

My question is, how do we ensure that he is the target as often as possible? We are level 21 and these are our first characters so thanks for your patience on this nooby question. This community has been incredible by the way. LOTRO just gets more and more fun!!!!!

(Update after ~20 comments: thank you all for the answers. Very helpful, very insightful. Might just be the effect of playing blue cap and red guardian, and we’re willing to live with that and will strategize our best if not some day try new specs! Happy adventuring to you all)

Order was “forgotten”

I know this sub is full of people who have waited a couple weeks but I’d like to share that I’m 10 weeks in (ordered Feb 26) and my order is not complete. They emailed me back two weeks ago to admit that they completely forgot to even start my order. And this week they have stopped replying altogether.

I ordered a set of custom 101 originals, stiff KBS steel, +1”, +3°. In the same order I had some wedges and the free glove. Those came in two weeks. My buddy got 201’s stock, they came in two weeks.

I was fully down to wait the 8 expected weeks but when they told me they forgot… I am definitely starting to see the “pay big money to YouTube influencers but don’t give much of a crap about supporting actual paying customers” model shining through clearly.

I usually dislike complaining like this but since this sub is full of people considering buying, and a lot of people successfully getting orders after a month or two, wanted my experience shown as well.
(Hoping I’m one of those who wakes up tomorrow to clubs at the door even though I’ve not been given an order update or tracking number ha).

Update May 8, 11am: support emailed me that the clubs are currently shipping to the US warehouse, then will ship to me. I can be patient so long as I know it’s moving forward as planned!
