I ordered a custom set of Takomo irons on May 6 and trying to get a realistic idea of shipping timelines from others who’ve gone through the process. When I ordered, the estimate was 4–8 weeks for custom builds. My order tracker originally said “3–4 weeks: preparing for assembly,” and as of May 18 it updated to “2–3 weeks: being assembled,” which seems like a good sign. I’ve seen mixed experiences in this community though with some people saying they received theirs in around 4 weeks, while others are still waiting at 8–10+ weeks. I’m located in North Carolina, USA, and have a golf trip scheduled for June 12, so I’m trying to figure out if there’s a realistic chance they arrive before then. Mainly looking for feedback from people who ordered custom irons, but any recent Takomo shipping experiences would help. How long did your order take from purchase to delivery?

Has anyone else had issues getting a response from Takomo customer service?

I ordered Takomo 201 irons with KBS Tour Lite X-Stiff shafts, but emailed them shortly after placing the order because I realized I wanted to switch to KBS Tour Lite Stiff instead.

I’m now going on 8 days since my first email and still haven’t gotten an actual response from a person. I’ve sent multiple follow-ups because my order status says it could dispatch soon, and the setup I want is currently listed as in stock and ready to ship.

I did get an automated AI response saying they would forward it to another team, but nothing since then.

Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with slow communication from Takomo recently, especially for order changes. Did they eventually get back to you before shipping?

So in pretty new to golf (been playing for like 2-3 months) I currently have some hand me down irons from the 90s and want to by my first set of clubs.

I’m a natural athletic guy hand have already dropped my score from a 45+ handicap to a 25 handicap and I can’t decide on 201s or 101s

I’m worried I’ll out grow the 101s quickly and won’t want to spend money to upgrade after just getting new clubs

My fear with the 201s is that they are a bit above my level.

Is it possible I will “grow” into the 201s no problem?

Are the 101s fine even as someone who hopes to get my handicap less than 10-15?

Made a recent impulsive decision to get 101mk2s the other day and with a few videos as research. Been thinking about buying them for a while. So I was sat on the toilet and thought sod it I’ll buy them. Then to my dismay I discovered there a possible quality control issue with kbs tour lite stiff shafts?! Last thing I want is to be snapping heads off so my question is how do I go about changing my order to regular stuff shafts?

I've been told that my 7 iron, which hit no more than 35 balls and now has a chip in it, on the day I received it, is my fault and that it's just 'unlucky' and not poor quality/defective. Get this, Takomo, won't replace the club. I haven't unwrapped any other club.

I bought 101MKII, and it was delivered on Wednesday. As anyone would, I unwrapped the 7 iron and went straight to the range. Super excited. I hit no more than 35 balls, and then looked at the club and saw it had a chip in it (see photo). I immediately took a photo, stopped hitting the balls and went home, and on that same evening of receiving the club, I contacted Takomo. Expecting an apology and willingness to resolve this. They got back to me a couple of days later, and I have attached a photo below of the rude, poor customer service I received. Refusing to replace the club as it "isn't covered under warranty" and offering no other form of resolution. Saying I got 'unlucky' and blaming me for the chip. Horrific customer service and rude/obnoxious response with absolutely baseless claims. I read all the terrible reviews of Takomo and stupidly ignored the obvious red flags about them.

I do have more photos if anyone is interested; it was just taking forever to upload them. I know the photo doesn't show it clearly, as it was hard to capture, but it is a deep chip.

I hope people find this information useful before buying theirs.

Ordered my 201 mk2 April 5 and still hasn’t even shipped, not custom btw. I then email them to switch my order to 301 CB since its in stock and same price and they responded with an AI saying they would get back to me and nothing has happened.

I am a 13 hcp, playing mizunos jpx921 forged for 3 years. Still struggling with my 4 iron.
Are the 201 more forgiven then the jpx?
Since they are out of stock, how about the 201T?
I carry my 7 iron about 170-175 yards.

Ordered 201mk2s, KBS extra stiff, no customization, when I ordered it said the latest I would receive delivery was yesterday.

It said restock was 5/6, then on 5/6 it moved to 5/12, today it says 5/19 for restock. Very frustrating.

Is anyone else having this experience?

Any information on when the putter line will be released? I can’t seem to find anything online. I really liked the looks of the Otso putters and like the idea of an affordably priced low torque putter

Have been playing for about 4 months now, shooting high 80's to low 90's pretty consistently. Definitely improving quickly with my irons striking. Biggest struggle is my driver / short game which seems to alternate per round. Currently playing with some old acer xv cavity backs, but it's time for an upgrade. Not sure whether to go with the 101mk2's or 201mk2's. I don't want to go 101s and risk growing out of them too fast, but also don't want to go 201's and risk having too little forgiveness. After seeing the strong lofts on the 101s, am leaning towards 201 as my current irons tend to give me a lot (more than wanted) of height. If anyone can speak on how the forgiveness differs between the two and any other advice that would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
