Any stories with the same amount of character build up like GHG (I Became a God in a Horro Game)

Ive finished it months ago and my fascination for the characters hasnt decreased at all. I REALLY enjoyed how fleshed out each of them are and how Bai Liu built a found family that is ultimately heart warming but still just the right touch of dysfunctional. (Mu Sicheng and Lu Yizhan stood out the most for me). Even ML is great and It felt like he wasnt just there for the romance.

Im wondering if you know books with similar level of Character Build ups? It doesnt need to be romance focuses too, or heart warming. I just want a book where characters feel alive with their own motivations. I alresdy know popular titles like MXTX books, Korean novels like GSGW, TCF, ORV, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ah Zuo and Gongyi Tianheng's dynamic and I think the development is good (for something that was brewing for like 500 chapters), but overall it wasn't something special. I loved their bond more than anything but I didnt really care if it was platonic or romantic.

What really fascinates me about this book is how good it is cultivation and plotwise. Everytime I read a cultivation manhua I constantly compare them to IHM. Sure you can argue Gongyi Tianheng has a lot of plot armor and is your average OP protagonist, but i'd argue he's the ideal type of OP protagonist where you can actually see he is really intelligent and knows how to use his cards well. Just the right amount of ruthlessness and he knows how to establish connections. He also foster people around him because he knows just one man can't have absolute power.

The Power system is also unique and interesting enough to keep me engage. Plot points that are established earlier on arent just forgotten, and there's a proper political system laid out. Characters don't just show up, get face slapped, then disappear. They show up randomly through out the whole book, with each appearance serving a purpose and each of them is distinct. They're fleshed out with their own motives, and this isnt judt 10 characters either.

Ah Zou's development from an insecure, a bit cowardly teen who's thrown into a survival of the fittest world without any knowledge to a man who's confident about his abilities and can actually cause active harm is really really good too. Like its a debate whether the fact he becomes more and more morally grey is a good character development, but for this story which never really discusses morals (one flaw I can think off) id give it a pass.

In conclusion, yeah its a generic cultivation plot of getting more and more powerful, but its a WELL WRITTEN and FLESHED OUT cultivatuon plot. Just dont expect much romance from this unless youre willing to endure 500 chapters.
